In the comments of her post, Malone responded to an Instagram user's message that said the person who assaulted her had been able to "walk away" without any repercussions for their actions.
"No that's not true," she replied. "I used restorative justice to allow healing and accountability and growth with the other person. It was a hard process but one I believe truly helped me move thru some of the hardest parts of the grief.

Malone also commented that she chose not to reveal the identity of the person that assaulted her in part due to the "cancel-like culture that has been created" in recent years, adding, "I also don't fully see how the criminal justice system could fully repair my healing, though I do believe it can help in many ways."

First of all, sexual assault could be something as simple as someone grabbing her ass. I didn't learn this until the DeShaun Watson case that he could have done something as simple as grab one of the woman's ass and that be sexual assault

Sexual assault sounds far worse than it could actually be. A simple grab of the ass is like what happened in the movie The Wood. Are you telling me that's sexual assault?

I think they need to change the definition of sexual assault, for real, because that's a very powerful term for something that could be extremely minor or even accidental

So for all we know, someone on set could have kissed her without asking, and a lawyer says we're going to the press to say you sexually assaulted my client. By letter of the law, yes this may be true, but they have no intention of going into a courtroom. The real threat is having your name plastered in the media alongside sexual assault and now everyone will assume you're a rapist when all you did was steal a kiss (not saying that is right either, mind you). That threat could ruin a career, and so the checkbooks and NDAs come flying out pretty quick.
