Dope concept almost lost me when they mentioned bodack yellow
Funny part was when they mentioned party up by DMX and meth said he hated that record. They changed direction real quickYeah THAT was a stretch. I GET it but I also thought Joey was hating. I don't think you REALLY want to be complaining about SOUTHERN flows and act like Dip Set and 50 didn't jack that whole steez for a minute.

That party up record played everywherethere were so many subminals... Drake and Kendrick would have been dizzy with glee

That party up record played everywhere

Dwight’s love that recordand to be CLEAR... that doesn't MEAN its a good record (although it IS) or Meth HAS to like it
DMX himself admits he originally hated the Rough Ryders anthem beat.
but the impact of those records are undeniable

Who we be - came out right after that then
X gon give it to ya
Where the hood at
Get it on the floor
Right…. The descend
4 classic hits after that?
99% of the industry would do ANYTHING for that type of "descent " though
And add in all the troubles DMX had?
Sadly the descent was a long time coming. I don't know if THAT was some type of benchmark, just my opinion.
Those are classic hits? You are Calling it Get it on the floor is a classic hit?
Im not slighting X’s career, i love X.
Its dark and hell is hot is like the soundtrack for my teenage years. “The prayer” can still make me shed tears till this day.
Party up was one of them songs where drunk white college kids start acting stupid too. Its probably his “biggest hit” but was also a curse IMO
So you just gotta SKIP the other 3?
I'm saying he still X after that record. Those singles were still platinum and also Def Jam was kinda dropping the ball and ready to move on.
It wasn't some huge fall off.
None of them are are my classic dmx list, but maybe i just prefer the darker side of x. I guess its subjective ,but point still remains party up became the apex of his career and it wasnt one of his better songs
