I listened to this whole album recently. A very commendable and noteworthy effort. No classic though.

I loved this sample so much and I feel if a quality producer had really taken thier time THIS record would have made his career.

I ain't gonna classic. To me its that 9 out of 10 range. Like College Dropout, like the Black album. Not quite classic but almost there. Its a underrated album. That album flowed so well. The 1st G-Unit album I heard that strayed away from the same production over and over again.

no, saying that is disrespect to every classic hip hop album, stop throwing that word around, it is a good album tho

those 2 albums you mentioned are miles ahead of bucks album, especially black album

I think this week is the album's anniversary.

its a really good album and I think unappreciated because of the G Unit affiliation but many actually THINK its a classic.

I reserve classic status for not only the content but the effect it had on hip hop as a whole. To me sales, while a factor, is not a defining one.

And I think there is also such a thing as a local or hood classic like some mixtapes and independent releases.

It's a good album. I wouldn't mind if I heard someone call it a great album. And it holds up pretty well....
But it's still not a classic. The word 'classic' gets thrown around a little too causally these days.

agreed for the most part

How is it not a classic to you if its that high up on your list? Buck was that nigga when this shit dropped.

I would say my top 5 are classics to me

I just don't like to throw the word around

Agree with these two

Uhhh....I think they're better but I won't say miles ahead. They're different albums. For me Straight Out of Cashville pasts the replay value test. You can still play the album today and it doesn't sound outdated. They're better albums but they fall in the same category. Solid albums but a few records prevent it from being classic.

Yea when we start throwing that word classic around then the floodgates open.

But i've felt that way when I see people widely consider Doggystyle and Chronic classics. And musically they are. But can you really be a classic with just decent lyrics? Because if so, Juvenile's 400 Degreez should be a classic. You just open the floodgates when you throw word around but I agree. Straight Outta Cashville was dope.

400 Degreez is a classic as well as the highest selling southern album of all time for a solo artist

So it ain't no should there

That is a classic and Cashville ain't on that level that's my point

It's not on Riding Dirty's level

None of that

No. The production is banging but Buck is garbage on the mic. Always was. And I'm born and raised in Cashville.

album was good, not a classic.

there really aren't that many hip hop classics.

and that's a good thing.
it is really good though for that time period

every album you mentioned is a classic tho, don't be fooled, 400 degrees was the first southern album that was popping on the east(new york), not outkast, not no limit, it was 400 degrees, it got so much play up here you would of thought he was from ny, not saying that on some ny cocky shit but im saying how much of a impact that album had to hip hop

Tough call.

"Classic" might be too strong a word but it was a really good album, maybe the best one from anyone on G-Unit, 50 included.

Only because jayz was on that album and cosigned it

And young jeezy 101 y'all was bumping hard too

Jay-Z was on both albums spittin flames

I don't know about classic but this was a solid album and I was rocking this album heavily when it dropped, I remember when I had beef with a bunch of townie Bikers and every time i left my house I would bump that track because I knew I would run into those bastards and this track got me through that period in my life
