I hope not, but they have a large hole to dig out of. I thought the Clippers would just quit and tank for a pic, but it seems like they are actually going to play this out. If they go into tank mode I think the Lake show can get an 8th seed.

I've put some thought into it.

Eastern teams:
Orlando is the most likely to make up ground. Miami will tread water at best but won't move up. Detroit will probably tread water. Shaq is wrong-- Charlotte won't keep up.
#6 Brooklyn #7 Orlando #8 Detroit

Western teams:
Utah has had the toughest schedule in the league so far and has the easiest the rest of the way. Houston's has been more balanced. The Jazz might catch the Rockets.

The Lakers and the Timberwolves are not going to make it. What's tough for me is figuring out who loses between the Spurs, Clippers and Kings. I think most likely the eight teams 1-8 currently are the ones that make the playoffs. Not picking exact seeds here but Houston, Utah, LAC and San Antonio make the cut.
