Young folks today have no idea what real talent or even what real rap is, so they can't comprehend skills because they think that Lil (cough...garbage) Wayne is the best to touch it, when it ain't even close. YOu look at the Jacksons/Jackson 5 after they left Motown. Disco was in full swing and they needed to drop an album. If you haven't heard the album, cop it. Good shit all the way thru. They adapted to stay relevant and rode the wave til disco died.
I have said before that we are in the "Disco stage" where talent, skill, lyrical content don't matter, just weak beats that people can dance to and movie-style one liners that are catchy. THe Jacksons adapted which is what Ice Cube is trying to do. The difference is that I actually like what the Jacksons did, and I don't like this at all.

Just to be clear - I posted those Ice cube Albums and I could have posted early NWA and Eazy E's album as a reminder that Cube produced so much great music that he gets a life time pass on whatever he wants to do in music - too many young folks no him from TV and Movies but they have no idea how devastating and influential a rapper and writer he was -
