Radical but not a terrible idea. Worth considering.
I think the main drawback is drawing the line on what is a dunk, i.e. if the ball leaves the hand .2 seconds before going through the hoop.
This is the problem with the NBA right here. Terribly marketed and covered by the talking heads and alum. barkley literally sits on his ass and trashing the product nonstop.
