Comparative for generation id lean yes....probably. Wasnt a global game.. no AAU.. smaller game, everyone went to college... But to be clear i wasnt being as literal as you tend to take things. Moreso both being 7'4 freaks of nature with limitless potential. My bigger point was Dream played with a ALL NBA, MVP caliber big in year one.. Wemby out there with a bunch of clowns and the ghost of Point Gawd.
Fair response.
Half those guys were washed and he has losing records against most the others. Wemby plays in a far more skilled and competitive era. 2 teams won all the dam titles in the 80s.
2024 BGOL Centers Mt Rushmore
This thread is the third in a 2024/25 series revisiting Mt Rushmore selections, following the 2024 Shooting Guard Mt Rushmore and 2024 Point Guard Mt Rushmore. A position Mt Rushmore has been assessed every five years on BGOL beginning in 2014. In 2019, the 2014 BGOL Shooting Guard Mt Rushmore...

This discussion prompted me to finally post the 5 year Rushmore reassessment for centers that I meant to post months ago... In 2014 and 2019, the top 3 were the same: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, in that order. Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaq finished 4th and 5th, each one closely outranking the other once.
I think this is one of the more interesting positions to reassess because Jokić was an unknown five years ago and he's on a lot of people's Mt Rushmore now. I also added Joel Embiid, Karl Anthony Towns and Victor Wembanyama. I think you could make an actual case for Wemby if you assess greatness based on peaks rather than as a cumulative achievement, though I don't expect him to make the top 5 yet. (He's already better than Shaq ever was IMO.) He probably will make it in 5 years though, barring injury.
