You make it sound like Jokic is the worst defender in the NBA.
You should point it out the next time he proves to be a liability. It’s obvious with Luka. But I haven’t actually seen the case made against Jokic.
Nobody believes he’s Mount Mutumbo. But consistently saying “but his defense” when he routinely does unprecedented things on offense seems disingenuous.

As someone who think they both stink, Luka is actually a better team defender than Jokic. Like it's not even close. Jokic flat out doesn't care. Luka will play passing lanes and get deflections and attempts to play defense. Jokic gives up on so many plays that require him to move his feet. Luka sucks on ball and is a cone when hunted. Same as Jokic.

Westbrook has never and will never do what Steph has done; and to be fair he can not do what Steph does..
The general message is that white or foreign players don't need rings to be elevated over Black men as being better (they also don't need to play or excel at defense to be great, ex: Jokic, Luka, Curry). Their whiteness and offensive stat padding is enough. This less than a decade after we spent the entire 2010's decade minimizing the greatest scorer in NBA history because of "rings", proving it was disingenuous from the jump. I'm not saying that he doesn't play defense, I'm just saying that his effectiveness and presence is definitely not as strong as others especially the greats.But let's not disrespect and discredit Kareem because he didn't throw great passes and have the assists.
Because he literally did EVERYTHING ELSE and was a winner and a game changer at every level since high school!
He can’t be greatest all time center. His athletic limitations keep him from that conversation. He can’t jump or move which means he can’t defend properly. Yes, offensively he’s up there but you gotta be able to protect the rim as a center to be the greatest. That is non negotiable. Putting up 50 and giving up 50 cancels you out. Two way players>>> at any position in the league.
Especially in a day and age where there are Centers who can damn near guard 1-5. They gotta stop ignoring defense….but they won’t.
