Official 2025 NFL Off Season Discussion!!!

Dwayne Haskins in danger of being benched already?

He needed to sit longer to develop. I don't think he was ready to start. That's one thing Gruden was right about.

Same with Trubisky

I think it's a difference in players who only started one year in college versus those who played two and three years. You only played one year in college and then are supposed to QB in the NFL your rookie year? Let them sit a year, maybe two.

i can't disagree with this. I see some real potential in Haskins. He just does not have enough experience under his belt. One year starter in college. that , to me, makes him a project. I'll give him a pass for last season. he only started 7 games in gruden's system. those last 3 or 4 games he was starting to get it & was tearing shit up till he got hurt. Now forward to this season. New coach , new system (not to mention an OC that does not stress the running game - a young QB's best friend). He needs time/continuity in one system in my opinion. We will see how it all plays out.

Honestly this is on the players. They are getting paid millions to play football and stay away from people (isolate).
I really hate this response. "They're being paid millions..."

Most of the players aren't millionaires. Most of the players will play 3 years or less.

To call someone's salary into question, any time it's pointed out how difficult their job is is demeaning, even if its unintentional.

Many of these men have been playing football for 10 - 15 years for free before they EVER make a dollar. Most leave the game with debilitating injuries that would make many contemplate suicide.

These men have lives, and most of them aren't living recklessly, but going to dinner with their girlfriend whom they didn't know got it from her beautician at the shop or the person who dropped off the Door Dash is unfair and callous.
