I'm glad they're ending it, personally. I wasn't a big fan of last season. The whole thing about time traveling was lame. I remember during the 1st season everybody that watched the show was speculating if they did go back in time. Just seemed like lazy writing to me. I still want to know what the hell is up with that smoke monster!!!

Theres only two things I really want to happen in this final season. And thats the answering of all the major questions and for Jack to bite the bullet.

One of the ideas I've always had was that Richard Alpert(AKA Ricardus) arrived on the Black Rock possibly as its captain or one of its crew. And that hes the last of the group that he originally arrived with. I also believe that he was appointed by Jacob for whatever reason to act as the Island's guardian, recruiter and liaison. Also I have a feeling that when this series ends that he'll be replaced by another. More than likely one of the survivors of 815.
Season 5 finale for anyone that wants to brush up before tuesday.

I put it on my Netflix instant queue and i'm only halfway through season 2...I seen the end of season 2 on tv when they stopped putting in the numbers and basically forgot about the show after that. Now i'm just making up for lost time (pun intended)

i heard a while back that the Smoke Monster is supposed to have its own flashback show. That should be interesting. Im also interested in Richard Alperns backstory. And im betting Claire died in that explosion.

That was key for me....show went from GREAT..to good...to...DUMB..when they did that time travelin' shit...i was like...whuh???..
Still ended decent though....so as crazy as the show normally is..i just had to suspend disbelief even more so with that snatch off the plane and land in another era shit....
first few seasons...BEST shit i've ever seen on tv....point blizzy..
I can't wait for tonight's show for 2 reasons:
because there was a glitch. everyone that left the island was supposed to return. they all didnt return, thus causing that glitch.
I wonder if the guy in the the black shirt with Jacob in the finale was able to create the glitch and then was able to find the loophole to kill Jacob.
you didnt see the ending of the last episode? the guy in the black shirt took the form of John, who's dead. he got Ben to kill Jacob, and thats the loophole. He couldnt do it himself. Thats why jacob says to john, something to the effect of finally being able to find the loophole.
This is the type ofshow that each season should be watched twice. I guarantee you will pick up on things and people, that you didnt notice before.

I saw it but what wasn't explained was did he create the glitch or was it was some random act. If he created the glitch how was he able to do it this time and not before?
how was he supposed to do it before? he had to have someone else kill jacob. first, he had to find him. which is how Richard got involved. No one knew where Jacob was except Richard. Richard didnt know that John was dead. Remember, they show him Johns body after Jacob is killed. Thats how he realizes that john is not really john.
I think that is Rose and her husband.

I agree 100% with what your saying. I just wonder how Ben ties in to all this now that we know he was never the rightful leader of the others and why it was tolerated by Jacob.
You would of thought that Richard might of removed Ben at some point under orders from Jacob.
why would Ben be removed? He did everything they (richard/jacob) told him too, by any means. All he cared about was doing what he was told. I dont think anyone else on the island had the ability to do that.
Jacob doesn't like Ben, and never talked to him. Ben only pretended Jacob was talking to him directly.
Maybe it has something to do with Smokey 'changing' Ben when he was a kid after he was shot. Possibly, Jacob was powerless to stop him.
Im not sure he was ever working for Jacob but the man in black impersonating Jacob
