This is impressive but maybe I missed the turn around time for prompt to product. What kind of hardware is backing the AI?

They'll put Hollywood to bed.
You can have creators make entire movies from their home computer and do voices AI generated as well.

This is a game changer. They need to drop an open source version. Because if this is OpenAI's baby, then it will probably be a pay model like ChatGPT.

Even though this will disrupt a lot of current careers in entertainment, it will increase access. I predict there will be a lot more Black producers. Technology is tearing down barriers that muted our creatives. "Club Shay Shay" would not exist 10 years ago. Until CACs find a way to hold us back, I see Black folks dominating entertainment. We have to get and maintain access to the Metaverse which will be the next big thing.

Maybe I'm just a dumbass but it looks like a real life cartoon.

Does anyone see this getting so good to a point where they could replace real actors with AI generated actors? Won't they still need someone to do the voices even if they're using AI characters. No way AI is gonna show the emotions of real actors.

Even music. AI don't got bars. I can't see AI replicating how an artist can put together a song.

The song was allegedly written by a person but Drake and the Weekend's vocals are AI. If it is good enough to do this, I don't think it's a stretch for it to use emotions for movies. The song doesn't sound like the robotic voices/tones we are use to from normal text to speech tools. Even if it's not the best today, AI seems to be advancing quickly.

From what I understand, AI kind of takes information from across the net and compiles it to give you a result. In theory, given enough songs it could replicate a rappers flow etc.. it may already be good enough to make a passable song.

I didn't follow it closely, but i think part of the last actors strike included fears around humans being replaced by AI amongst their other issues. Maybe it was the writers or both.

Y'all keep in mind theres no release date and we're only seeing the successful results.

Im suspicious that they have a lot to work out before releasing this.

Someone asked about the computational power needed. The US banned sales of Nvidia's high end GPU in China....so that Chinese bought whole computers to get around the ban lol.

I'm seeing more professors and our HPC department deploying more GPU based systems where I work.

Listen, I know y'all don't know me irl from the guy in line at a grocery store. And I don't share much about me.

But I will share this. I have always considered myself a person that if forward seeking and well prepared. I have lived in multiple states, overcame some life changing obstacles, and have done well. Basically, I consider myself capable of adapting to almost any change. I always felt that the most successful people are those with a strong ability to adapt.

But this shit here.....this shit worries me. It is getting too real. figuratively and literally. I am not talking about people losing their jobs and professions like, photographers, actors, and content creators. I am talking about how people can use this to scam, incite false narratives, and shit like that.

The Taylor Swift porn pics are just the tip of the iceberg.

Not that passable.

Even if you think both artists are garbage you have to admit their recording and mixing is better than this.

The piano is too loud and drowns out a lot of the vocals. There's random volume dips all over the track and the vocal processing chains are completely off. It sounds like a garage recording.

To make matters worse, They got the Weeknd's flow wrong and his vocal inflections are on the wrong words. IMO he's not the greatest singer in the world, but he's better than that.

Drake works with some of the best writers in the business and this song is trash. There's practically no separation between the sections. No changes in the beat. No changes in the flow and the title is a cliche.

The AI got everything right except the standards.
