no problem. I was having a discussion with a coworker about the source. Many people, I would almost go as far as to say most people, don't question the authority placed and front of them by birth. The authority being parents and the religion in which we were raised. doing so would crumble the very Foundation they built their house on, the very sidewalk on which they step on every day and they could not handle the possibility that they were told half truths, or flat out lies by the people they place the most trust in - that first source - the parent and the preacher.
rather than ask that hard question, they simply go along with the program like lemmings.
I have had many beatings in my life because I refuse to simply go with the program because, I said so. I always asked why, even if it meant a belt was coming in the near future.
the hard question is in this case, where is the money going? How is the money helping the community? How much do the bishop, and the elders make? is there enough so that those who don't have cars can get A daily bus pass once a week to come to church?
$420B over 30 years is a lot of money and I don't see enough difference made in the community. I still see gangs. I still see drug dealers. I still see run down houses. I still see you no landscaping. I still see Asian, Indian, and Arab stores and my black community with little or no black business option.
