Brotha, don't be too willing to stand up and prove anything, especially in defense of that "Badge" you wear, the department you work for, or your squad / precinct-mates you work with. All of them will leave you at the very 1st sign of trouble you get in or trouble they can successfully scape-goat you with. We, Black Men, are not considered equal in this society and that condition / position did not change, for you, by virtue of you joining a police department or becoming a peace officer. I'm sure "solidarity" is of the most important things of the day at your department, especially amongst the caucasian officers who are now probably being exceedingly vocal with their feelings of inclusiveness and they not "seeing color" but just criminals, they're not advocating fairness they're concealing their fear. Fear of having to go into these densely "Black" populated communities, because if they appear to be white they know they are "persona-non-grata" before they even arrive. This is why you are extremely valuable to them, you're the ghetto-pass.
