Remember everyone, we aren’t spending money today! No amazon, no target, no Walmart etc! Don’t use your debit cards or credit cards. Only if absolutely necessary

These types of boycotts are not effective and are more performative. 24 hours does not move the needle and this type of boycott for any longer is unsustainable for most people. More black businesses need to be D2C and us black folks need to support them when we can even if the cost is a little higher, but in these economic times, purchasing the same item for a higher cost is difficult for most people. As a community, we need to update the playbook, practice more group economics, and need new voices in our government. The Democratic Party is trash and lacks the political acumen to win elections in the present day.
Perhaps you never heard of Rosa Parks.
If it fails, it will be because of people like you.
Time to pick a side, lead, follow, or shut the hell up and get out of the way.
Idiot.
I'm gonna offer a little push back. Those sit ins, large scale and extended boycotts did and can work. But this microwave bullshit where people do shit as it's convenient to them, for as long as it's convenient and they don't have to actually sacrifice anything aint gonna do shit. So while I understand it, unless we talking about weeks, and people not going into work and risk losing something... New Redbulls out, so there goes 1 purchase for me already.![]()
I agree with this. These types of campaigns will only net results if they are protracted. And that is never easy.I'm gonna offer a little push back. @notreally I am speaking specifically about this boycott and I think you missed my point about being unsustainable. I've been on here for a long time and never get personal with anyone because I don't personally know anyone on here. The sustainability is what generally makes boycotts effective. Regardless of the economic impact of 24 hours, most of these businesses, even if they supported DEI, they calculated the risk of opposing Trump vs sporadic boycotts. Most decided that opposing Trump was the bigger risk. My point is to direct your dollars to the black-owned businesses when possible. Most tend to choose the most convenient and cheapest option available. I personally think it more impactful to patronize the black owned businesses when possible, hence me saying, more black businesses need to be Direct-to-Customer. This is just a situation where we agree on the goal, but disagree on the strategy. I don't need to "pick a side, lead, follow, or shut the hell up and get out of the way." It is that type of group think that has the Democratic Party in shambles.

That's true and for the people that may be new to this, they need to be reminded that the road is not easy and some sacrifices are necessary. There are ways of inspiring others, reinforcing a message and keeping people motivated that don't involve us breaking down into petty feuds. That's never helpful. If someone isn't as motivated as you are, then find a constructive way to motivate them. And people continually chiming in insisting it will fail does not make it any easier.

Well whatever you want to call it, turning your ally into an antagonist won't help the cause at all.It is not a feud.
PICK a fucking side.
LEAD, FOLLOW, or SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GET OUT OF THE WAY.
How in holy hell can someone be reminded of something they have never been through?
Making excuses for saying "you'll nevah make it outta heah, nigga!! Might as well keep ya head down" is just as annoying and undermining as stating it yourself.
Gotta start somewhere!
First one day then build to a week
If u don't want to run the marathon can u at least cheer us on or stay out the way!
Pple that dont believe in the cause have the easiest job......Just don't say anything bad about the pple trying.
Not just one day

I hear ya but as mentioned...I think youre misunderstanding what my POV is. If this is going to be meaningful. Then this baby steps shit gotta planned out. If we talking about 1 day a month we do this. Bet. If we're really willing to give up shit, risk losing shit, risk our quality of life, willing to put up something outside of the easy shit, that we really gone undo on Monday??? Then the shit is just bluster that didn't do shit but make some people feel good for a day. In your hood what they talking bout??? In my hood what they talking bout??? In so and so hood... How we gonna parlay this is we really do get the attention of the powers that be??? You get what I'm saying??? Everything year its this social media we not gone do this on this day amd nothing comes from it. Because... Aint nobody really ready to get gully with it. So I'm not saying don't. If you think it's a spark. Bet. But I'm keeping it a buck. Until those involved are really ready to feel some pain and sacrifice. This shit just for clout. My opinion. Respect.
man, watch them redbulls. i stopped drinking them last yearI'm gonna offer a little push back. Those sit ins, large scale and extended boycotts did and can work.
