If you just relocated it can take forever to find a traditional job. Working from home saves money on gas/ cab fare/ & subway cost.... it also saves money on food & clothing cost. You also dnt have to deal with buying new clothes or dry cleaning bills.

There are several online-learning platforms focused on teaching English as a second language to students in other countries.

Angela Brumbaugh is a QKids teacher. She teaches 36 half-hour sessions a week and makes up to $20 an hour.

“The curriculum is set for you before class, and your job is to simply guide the children through the lesson, offering guidance, smiles and tons of encouragement,” she says. That’s a big perk for many: No lesson planning.

“The students are hard-working, curious and light up the classroom with their smiles,” she says. “Class time actually goes by fast, and the only con I can see is sometimes I wish I had more time to spend with them!”

The pay rate for sessions depends on the subject you are tutoring, with the opportunity to earn incentives.Glassdoor salaries show theaverage rate is between $9 and $13 per hour.

When you apply to work for Tutor.com, you will have to take a subject test and go through a mock tutoring session, as well as pass a background check.

Skooli

If you are a certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree, have a master’s degree or a specialized instructor qualification (like ESL), you can become an online tutor for Skooli.

To apply, you must provide proof of qualifications and education, and if you are a good fit you will then be verified.

Introverts have been getting a lot of buzz in the past few years. Everyone wants to tell us how to survive in what is, apparently, an extroverted world.

But what if you just want to live in an introverted world?

Luckily, we love to cash in on work-from-home opportunities, so you can keep your interaction with the outside world to a bare minimum.

Here are some creative jobs for introverts that don’t compromise your very real need to just be left alone sometimes.

1. Get Paid for All the Time You Hide out Online
INTROVERTPOWER1216_1.jpg

bernardbodo/Getty Images
You’re probably doing it right now: browsing the internet at your desk, in your bedroom or in the bathroom at a party… It’s a great way to escape and clear your head.

You could also be getting paid for this.Yup, Swagbucks pays you to watch videos! You won’t earn a lot (up to 150 “SBs,” or rewards points, per day), but the videos are in all sorts of categories — entertainment, home, travel — so you’re likely to find something that appeals to you.

Or, try this trick: Just turn off the sound on your computer, open a new tab and keep the videos going in the background while you work on something else.

You could earn up to $90 a month watching videos through Swagbucks!

2. Help Others Succeed Without Leaving Your House
Contrary to what some extroverts think, introverts do like to help others. If we can make money doing it from the comfort of our home, all the better. So a job making up to $60 an hour helping others succeed — while skipping the face-to-face — sounds like a dream come true.

Those are the perks of working as a bookkeeper, says Ben Robinson, a certified public accountant and business owner who teaches others to become virtual bookkeepers.

And no, you don’t have to have a CPA to be successful in this business. In fact, all you really need are decent computer skills and a passion for helping business owners tackle real-world problems.

We talked to Robinson about what it takes to become a virtual bookkeeper, as well as tips and advice for making this career track work for you. You can read the full interview here, or check out his website for more information.

3. Take Surveys While You Stay Home on Saturday Night
INTROVERTPOWER1216_3.jpg

Aileen Perilla/The Penny Hoarder
We know surveys aren’t going to make you rich quickly. But if you’re just vegging out on the couch avoiding Facebook event invites, why not use the time to make some extra cash?

There are a bunch of paid survey sites out there, but some of the best we’ve found are Ipsos Panel, Point Club and Harris Poll. You might recognize the Ipsos name, because it’s the same company that does most of the political polling during elections!

4. Shop Online So You Never Have to Go Outside
You know what it’s like out there. Stores are full of people crammed into aisles, holding up the line, chatting you up for no good reason.

Skip it, and shop online. You can find everything you need without talking to a soul. Plus, we’ve got a secret tool to help you make some of your money back.

This secret weapon is calledParibus— a tool that gets you money back for your online purchases. It's free to sign up, and once you do, it will scan your email for any receipts. If it discovers you’ve purchased something from one of its monitored retailers, it will track the item’s price and help you get a refund when there’s a price drop.

Plus, if your guaranteed shipment shows up late, Paribus will help you get compensated.

5. Improve Your Fitness Routine While You Skip Happy Hour
INTROVERTPOWER1216_5.jpg

Carmen Mandato/The Penny Hoarder
Avoiding people doesn’t have to mean you’re cooped up inside all the time.

Maybe you've been working on your solo fitness routine to shed some pounds.

Picture this: You step on the scale and finally see your goal weight.

Congratulations! But it gets even better.

You’re about to receive a generous check you can spend on stuff to do alone or wisely stick into your savings — all just for losing weight!

It’s not a fantasy. If you wager on your own commitment to losing weight with HealthyWage, this could very well happen for you… as long as you stick to your guns and lose the weight.

Here’s how: Sign up for HealthyWage, and define a goal weight and a timeframe to achieve it. Place a monetary bet on yourself, between $20 to $500 a month.

HealthyWage’s calculator will consider how much weight you have to lose, how much time you give yourself to do it and how much money you wager to determine your reward. You could win up to $10,000!

6. Do Your Banking Online, and Skip the Chit Chat
Have you had enough with the small talk at the bank? For goodness’ sake, you can look out the window and see the weather.

It’s the 21st century. You don’t have to leave your house to go to the bank anymore. Chime is an online-only bank account that offers some unique features other banks haven’t caught on to yet.

The best one? Get a jump on payday.

Unlike most banks, Chime won’t wait until your pay date to get your money. As soon as it receives notification of a direct deposit from your employer, it immediately posts those funds to your account — up to two days before payday!

7. Sell Your Stuff Without Inviting People Into Your Home
INTROVERTPOWER1216_7.jpg

John Howard/Getty Images
Negotiating and bartering are tough for anyone. For introverts, they can be agonizing.

Selling your stuff with apps likeLetgo and Decluttr lets you skip the trip to the record store or the awkward liaison with a Craigslist buyer.

Start taking a good hard look at your belongings. What do you actually need? What can you make money from?

  • Try selling old clothes to folks in your area through Letgo. It takes about five minutes to create your account and list an item, and it’s free.
  • About your overcrowded entertainment center, full of outdated music and movies…Consider selling these items toDecluttr. It’ll buy your old CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games and even cell phones and tablets. Shipping is free, and Decluttr pays you within 24 hours of retrieval.
8. Get Paid to Drink by Yourself
Drinking at bars is overrated.

It's loud, people are everywhere — and they might even try to talk to you. It's probably better to stock up on some adult libations and just drink at home by yourself.

Ibotta understands and will actually give you money for buying booze (other things) at grocery and liquor stores. If you're feeling adventurously social, it works at bars and restaurants, too.

Here’s how it works:

Before heading to the store, search for items on your shopping list within the Ibotta app. When you get home, snap a photo of your receipt and scan the items’ barcodes. Bam. Cash back.

Ibotta is free to download. Plus, you’ll get a $10 sign-up bonus after uploading your first receipt.

9. Hang out With Dogs Instead of People
INTROVERTPOWER1216_9.jpg

Yes, you can get paid to hang out with dogs. We know you’d be happy to do it for free, but why not make a little side hustle out of it?

Find dog-sitting or dog-walking jobs in your area by reaching into your network or signing up with Rover.

On Rover, you can choose to offer a variety of services, including dog walking, overnight boarding at your home or theirs, and daycare. Rover says sitters can earn as much as $1,000 a month — just for snugglin’ pups!

You’ll set your own rates and availability, so you have control over how often you work and how much you can earn. This stay-at-home mom earns $6,000 a year walking dogs.

You can even decide which dogs you’ll accept, based on size, age and medical needs. (See? They’re already easier than people.)

10. Earn Money From Credit Card and Bank Bonuses
Did you know a lot of credit cards and banks will give you money just for signing up? Instead of getting a toaster, they’re getting straight to the point these days: cold, hard cash.

These bonuses usually come with a few requirements. Typically, you’ll have to spend a certain amount on the credit card or deposit a certain amount into the bank account within the first few months of opening — so find one that’ll reward you for your normal spending habits.

Here’s an option we like: It’s theChase Freedom Unlimited card*. Its claim to fame? You’ll earn an unlimited 1.5% cash back on all your purchases. Plus, if you spend $500 in your first three months of opening the card (hi, groceries), you’ll pocket a $150 bonus.

There’s no annual fee, and the cash-back rewards don’t expire.

11. Stay Behind the Camera: Sell Your Smartphone Photos
INTROVERTPOWER1216_11.jpg

AleksandarNakic/Getty Images
Occupy yourself on nights out or at parties by snapping photos of other people. It’s a great way to join in on the fun without really interacting with people.

Plus, we found an app called Foapthat helps you turn your smartphone photos into cash.

To use it, you’ll download the Foap app on your Android or iPhone, upload your photos and make them available for purchase on the Foap Market.

You’ll split the profit 50-50 with Foap for each photo you sell, and you can sell the same photo an unlimited number of times.

12. Write Freelance for Blogs — or Start Your Own
Everyone is doing it these days, but it’s a safe bet to say introverts were probably the first bloggers.

Carefully composing your ideas before presenting them to people far, far away is pretty much an introvert’s ideal form of interaction.

As a freelance blogger, you can work as much or little as you want, so this makes a nice side gig or full-time job.

Pay varies wildly for writers, so make sure you’re compensated fairly for your time. Check out theseseven blogs that pay $100 or more per post.

Feel like starting your own blog? Here's your ultimate guide to getting started.

TL;DR

  1. Snag a domain name from GoDaddy (your URL).
  2. Set up hosting through a site like BlueHost (where your site will live).
  3. Set up an account with WordPress, and start writing!
13. Take Care of Houses
INTROVERTPOWER1216_13.jpg

monkeybusinessimages/Getty Images
House-sitting is kind of like babysitting, except you don’t have to be around kids all day. Sometimes, you don’t have to talk to another person at all.

The best bonus, really, is you get to stay in some pretty nice houses. You can get paid to look after them while the owners are out of town.

House-sitting can be a smart way to find free lodging when you travel, or you can actually turn it into a business and get paid for your service!

To learn more, read our full guide on how to find house-sitting jobs here.

14. Earn up to $180/Year for Downloading This App
Money that just rolls in while you do nothing is an introvert’s dream. No business meetings, phone calls or sweaty handshakes. Just let your phone do the work.

A number of companies will actually pay you for downloading apps on your smartphone or computer — this is a great way to boost your passive income.

One we love is calledSavvyConnect. Earn $5 per device (phone, tablet and computer) for each month SavvyConnect is installed, up to $180 per year.

The app collects data and helps companies better understand web and mobile usage — such as what times of day people browse, how long they stay on websites and use apps, and what types of sites and apps are popular (or not).

15. Write About Food and Wine
INTROVERTPOWER1216_15.jpg

filadendron/Getty Images
If you prefer the company of a good bottle of wine, try getting paid to write about it.

Turn your knowledge of body, fruit, tannin, acidity and sweetness into education and recommendations for other wine-lovers.

If you have writing skills and experience, pitch your ideas to magazine editors. Check out the 10 magazines in this list from WineTurtle to get started.

Also think about how your culinary prowess could apply to other topics. Maybe you can share cooking tips for families? Pitch these parenting blogs and magazines.

16. Work at a Cat Café
Yeah, if you work in a cat cafe, you’re going to have to deal with people. But they’re cat people, so you can probably handle it.

We found three cat café jobs thatpay up to $13 an hour, plus tips. If you have barista experience, your main job could be taking and preparing drink orders and helping customers. If you only want to hang out with cats, they have “cat wrangler” positions just for you.

Either way, if you’re a cat-lover, it’s a pretty great way to meet some new feline friends.

Who knows? You might even connect with some cat-loving humans while you’re at it!

17. Write Book Reviews
INTROVERTPOWER1216_17.jpg

Tina Russell/The Penny Hoarder
Spending another Saturday afternoon reading? Yeah, we thought so.

You ought to get paid for that time.

Lots of sites will send you free books or pay you to write book reviews (or both). If you’re an avid reader, it’s a great way to make or save money!

Some sites will publish your review in their magazine or blog. Some will ask you to publish at your own blog or on Amazon. Most ask for your honest review, but a few will only pay for positive reviews

Swagbucks
Swagbucks is a simple way to Earn Money Online. Have you ever wanted to make cash while surfing the web, searching on Google, watching YouTube or playing games? Swagbucks is an easy way to cash, gift cards or even make a donation with everyday activities you do with your computer.

All you have to do is complete small tasks that you normally do online like installing applications, filling out surveys, searching the web – for each action you will get points that can be converted to prizes.

Signing up for the service is free and simple, you can install a toolbar that interfaces with the browser and start earning immediately!

Fiverr
Fiverr showcases a variety of tasks that people will perform for fairly low rates. Originally, as you might guess, the concept was that each task would cost $5. These days, you can price your tasks for anywhere from $5 to $995. The tasks are called Gig Packages.

With Fiverr, you can perform either skilled or unskilled tasks. For instance, many graphic designers offer logo design packages for a set rate. Likewise, a writer might offer to write a press release for a flat rate. But you can also offer unskilled tasks such as administrative tasks or data entry tasks.

As a service provider, you can list the tasks you’re willing to perform and the price for while you’ll perform them. You’ll get paid upon completion–less fees–through Fiverr’s secure payment system. You may not make a ton of money, but it’s a good option as a side gig, especially if you can showcase the skills people are looking for.

Task Rabbit
Task Rabbit is currently available in 39 metro areas across the United States. The full list of cities is available here. The process is simple. You can sign up to become a Tasker, and then you can bid on local jobs you’re willing to do for some extra money.

Popular categories include handyman, cleaning, delivery, moving, furniture assembly, and personal assistant tasks. You can search the interface for tasks in your area, and then tell the asker how much you’d charge for such a task.

Generally, the project will go to the lowest bidder. You’ll get paid through the secure online system when you complete the task.

If you’re looking for a cheap way to get some of your everyday tasks done, you can also hire help through Task Rabbit.

Zaarly lets buyers find local businesses in a variety of service areas. Buyers can review service providers in their local area. So if you already have or are interested in starting, for instance, a landscaping, DJ, or cleaning business, aiming to wind up on Zaarly could be beneficial.

Amazon Mechanical Turk
Amazon Mechanical Turk gives businesses and developers access to people who can perform the work they need. The jobs on Mechanical Turk take a human touch, but they’re fairly simple and automated. Amazon calls them HITs–Human Intelligence Tasks.

For instance, you might need to identify photos that have houses in them. This task is beyond a computer, but it’s really easy. Your identification will help developers create CAPTCHA systems and other things.

Each job tells you up front how much it’s worth. If you’re efficient, you can make $10+ per hour on Mechanical Turk.

To get started just sign up to become a worker and from there you can start searching for jobs. Here’s an example of what you will see when you are searching:

CrowdFlower
This site focuses on data. It offers microtasks to complete, similar to Amazon Mechanical Turk. The tasks will include cleaning up, labeling, and collecting data. You can complete the tasks in just a few minutes and make a few bucks in the process.

EasyShift
The EasyShift app offers an interesting take on microtasking in that it focuses on your local area. Tasks might include taking pictures of products at local stores, checking prices, or looking into local stores’ promotions. There are tasks available across the United States, and you’ll get paid within two days of completing a task.

Field Agent
This app is similar to EasyShift, in that it focuses on local tasks you’ll actually have to go places to perform. Tasks might include checking prices and taking photos of products at local stores. You can also sign up for Scavenger Hunts, which involve hunting down specific products to answer questions about. The typical job pays between $1 and $12, and you can cash out your money at any point.

GigWalk
The tasks on GigWalk can make you a bit more money–up to $100 or more. After you sign up for an account, you’ll look for gigs in your local area. You’ll complete the gigs through the app and get paid through PayPal. The jobs on GigWalk come from brands and retailers who want to check out their products, displays, and pricing across various locations. To complete the gig, you’ll probably have to document your work through geo-tagged photos.

Fancy Hands
If you’d like to specialize in work-from-home administrative tasks, Fancy Hands may be for you. The available jobs may include scheduling appointments, making phone calls, price checking products and services, finding hotels, doing data entry, or performing internet research. You’ll have to actually apply for the job, and you’ll make $3 or more per task.

One interesting thing about Fancy Hands is that it allows for upward mobility. If you perform the job well, you could be promoted into a managerial position, which would put you in charge of other assistants.

Spare5
Like many of the sites featured here, Spare5 is meant to help developers and businesses complete simple tasks that still require a human touch. Tasks often include tagging photographs, offering keywords for photos, or even finding the edges of a photographed object. The goal is to help computers get smarter by feeding them loads of data. You might also work on audio or video files.

Once again, you’ll need to use the website or app to get access to the tasks, and you’ll get paid through PayPal.

Humanatic
This site has an interesting twist in that it has you reviewing phone calls. You know all of those phone calls you make to customer service lines where the call is recorded? Services like this one are why! With Humanatic, you’ll listen to recorded calls, and then answer questions about the calls. The service then provides companies with detailed analytics so they can hopefully improve their customer service processes. You can make anywhere from $1 to $4.50 per hour with Humanatic.
