Rest in Heaven DJ Unk


DJ Unk, the iconic Atlanta artist best known for his 2006 hit “Walk It Out” has passed away.

News of his passing was confirmed by family members online, though further details about his death have not yet been revealed.

DJ Unk, born Anthony Platt, became a prominent figure in hip-hop during the mid-2000s. His dance anthems, including “Walk It Out” and “2 Step,” helped define an era of Atlanta’s music scene. Released as part of his debut album Beat’n Down Yo Block!, “Walk It Out” topped charts and became a cultural phenomenon, earning DJ Unk widespread recognition and solidifying his place in hip-hop history.


The song’s popularity extended far beyond the dance floor, inspiring countless remixes, including a high-profile collaboration featuring OutKast’s André 3000 and Big Boi.


DJ Unk’s unique sound and style helped pave the way for Atlanta’s rise as a dominant force in hip-hop.
