I always point to that story when discussing why I don't use the word. I don't care about disarming, reclaiming or flipping since there are so many other words to choose from.
what i find impossible to comprehend is that whenever brothers visit africa, and then return to america, they all still act like a bunch of goddamned fools.

There are a lot of Africans young brother here that stay on that "my ninga", draws hanging out their pants, scamming, on welfare and working, and off course, not picking up brothers/sisters in their cabs..Africa is a continent.Ignorance is everywhere and transcontinental..How many fools do you know who actually visited Africa and came the same way? I only know a few non-Africans who visited and all were positive before and after. Just curious because you have a profanity in your avatar so I'm skeptical although I'll always agree with you on the white man's brainwashing...
this is most true ellison, but i blame european colonialism/mentality for that deplorable condition.
i too, only know of a few brothers or sisters who have visited africa (any part of) and made an almost 180 degree mental and moral change. but they are all ultra rare exceptions; i personally believe this positive change should be the rule.
my profanity is one of my few vices that i still retain; i ONLY use it in north america; never elsewhere.
