Watch the Democracy Now interview. “As the African National Congress voted Thursday to support the Palestinian call for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel known as BDS, we look at a new film that examines the apartheid analogy commonly used to describe the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “Roadmap to Apartheid” is narrated by Pulitzer Prize-winning Alice Walker and puts archival footage and interviews with South Africans alongside similar material that shows what life is like for Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and inside Israel. The documentary has just been released to the public after a year-long film festival run, where it won numerous awards. We are joined by its co-directors, South African-born Ana Nogueira and Israeli-born Eron Davidson, both longtime journalists. [includes rush transcript]

I know that the Jews in Israel have no historical right to that land and they themselves are not black folks friends. Look who sits in their prisons.

I know what they are doing is bullshit and they do it because they control the narrative.

And look at what North Sudan is doing to South Sudan.

My point is Black folk think we have some historical solidarity with Muslims. All have had a hostility toward Africans. This is one major reason why Africa and Africans have been under assault for the last 400 years.

North Sudan is Muslin, South Sudan is Christian.

But I do feel oppression anywhere is fucked up and when it is done by Europeans then it is done with the arrogance of white supremacy.

The documentary is good because it shows the truth of the matter instead of the Israeli narrative that they are victims.

They have never wanted peace they have never wanted a two state solution and they do what they can to obstruct any efforts while hiding behind an imaginary victimhood
