The article never says that. It's simply states the fact that the maximum punishment for this crime is 20 years in prison. We won't know how many years the prosecutor is asking for until sentencing begins.

It's similar to like what the judge did for yella breezy, he was convicted but the judge posted bond for him to be released if he can afford it. I remembered they had his bond at $1 million but lowered it to $750k
