Selma receives rave reviews from Lufkin locals on MLK

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, many movie goers packed the seats of the the critically acclaimed civil rights movie.
It was an emotional experience for some who went to see the civil rights movie. Many agreed that the film helped give them insight to a part of history that's is not often discussed.
"I thought it was very educational, although we lived through it ourselves," said one Selma movie viewer. "I feel like we need to get more of our young kids here to see the movie."
"It's an american film," explained another local leaving the film. "It's for everyone who went through a struggle during a very difficult time in American history.>
Limited screenings of Selma are playing at Lufkin Mall 9, as well as other theaters in the East Texas area. The movie has been nominated for "best picture" for this year's Oscar race.
