Secret Service shoots armed man in confrontation near White House

“As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm, and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel,” the Secret Service said in a statement spokesman Anthony Guglielmi shared on X.

The mystery man was filmed by a tourist as he charged toward the fence on the South Grounds on Monday and immediately started lifting himself up to the top.

“Bro!” one onlooker could be heard gasping as the black-clad man shimmied his way up to the top of the fence. Officers watched as the climber got to the top of the fence — with Secret Service agents inside the White House grounds racing toward the barrier.

Florida Man Threatens To Kill President Trump

Florida Police say Glen DeCicco was charged with making written threats to kill President Donald Trump. The Jupiter Police Department launched an investigation into comments he made on social media platforms targeting President Trump.

Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communications for the United States Secret Service, said in a post: "Thank you Jupiter (FL) PD for your swift response & partnership. Threats against @potus or any Secret Service protectee are taken very seriously. Our success often starts with tips from the public so please continue to report suspicious activity to police."
