Robert Reich's channel creates easy to understand videos discussing his views on Economics. He puts these topics into Layman's terms for consumption by the masses.

In this video, he discusses how the Super wealthy make their billions and create generational wealth for a Class of people who have never had to work a day in their lives, among other things. Think of the Hilton sisters for example, but the overwhelming majority of Trust Fund Babies fly under the radar. Paris Hilton was nothing more than a Socialite with a group of Paparrazi documenting her privileged lifestyle and that ain't exactly work.

Your thoughts?

If you don't have the full 5:12 to spare, just skip to 3;50 for the summary. A few people are jumping straight to conclusions it seems.

You don't approach anywhere near the income bracket to be defending obscene wealth like that. Ain't nobody coming for YOU now go back and watch the video.:hmm:

Yeah that is that victim mentality. NewsFlash they will always be rich and poor people.

You just have to pick which side you want to be on. In 2019 they are so many options on how to get your hustle on.

The problem is most people are lazy and it’s easy to sit on your ass and blame other people for your problems.

Wasting your energy hating on billionaires is not going to change your situation. Learn from them and get your hustle on. It may take your years or even decades.

Jayz did not become a billionaire overnight. It took him almost 30 years of hustling. He got his hustle on. He did not sit on his ass and bitch and complain

I wish nothing but pain and suffering on billionaire and their families.

Especially those CACs that got their money on the back of slaves.
I don't just outright wish any pain and suffering, but a portion of that wealth needs to be harnessed, not sheltered offshore nor handed down with little to no Tax implications. The middle class don't have those protections.

I think back to fucking David Rockefeller having been the recipient of six heart transplants before he died. Where'd those hearts come from anyway? Did he pay to cut in line for donations?

I don’t empathize with the wealthy (I’m sure the feeling is mutual).

I agree though. They escape all taxing everyone else have to endure. Plus they have all the power to control and influence politicians for their advatange.

They are above everything but pain and suffering and I wish so much of it on them.

But if I worked my ass off or simply invented something that made me insanely rich, why you mad? Fuck Zuckerberg, but he did his thing. Bezos did his thing. It’s whatever. Work on your shit. Billionaire just paid off an entire class’ student loans. Fuck yo

Yes, Jay-Z worked hard, other billionaires worked hard too, but NOBODY on this planet works as hard as a single mom with 3 jobs.

So how come Jay-Z has an obscene amount of wealth while the single mom can barely keep her car running?

Also, who the fuck chooses to be poor?

This is not about being a victim. I hold NOTHING against anyone earing to their greatest potential. It's about the Tax burden being shifted to the poor and middle class.

Jayz hustled to get what he has. Paris Hilton was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and gained notoriety from making a Sex Tape otherwise we probably wouldn't know who she was. How do the two of them compare?

This is about State and Local Governments cutting deals with WalMart to locate in places to provide low paying, part-time jobs, but contribute nothing to Property Taxes and their workers qualifying for Assistance.

The same applies to Billionaire Sports Franchise owners and the Stadium/Arena deals that tilt all of the gains to the Owner.

It's the Corporations that have been allowed to move Headquarters to Ireland or other countries to avoid Taxes when the majority of the production is still here. The Corporations who've shipped higher wage jobs to China and Mexico and only do assembly here, but don't pass on the savings to the consumer...the lies that they told Congress to get those Trade deals approved.

This is about a muhfucka who has amassed far more wealth than his extended family could ever spend in generations to come, yet run the equivalent of Stateside Sweatshops.

I ain't watchin your pockets...I'm not a CPA. Any other BGOL Billionaire would've remained in lurker mode. If you had ends like that, you wouldn't be sweatin' this topic as though somebody is puttin' they hands in yo pocket. Your very reaction speaks to that. Reminds me of SWP doing a video about how some "Educated Lames" react to mentoring Black boys back in the Hood: "Shiiit, you ain't eatin' offa meee!" That shit was hilarious.:roflmao:

That was outstanding of Robert Smith to do what he did. The Tax Codes make that easy for him and others to do Philanthropic work like that. If the 1% contributed more according to their means, there'd be less of a need for shit like that.

Gonna bet that most people parroting that tired "stop hating!" shit haven't watched the vid, understood the arguments or even know who Reich is lol.

The title is an admittedly hyperbolic statement sure to draw strong reactions but there are good reasons to take income inequality more seriously. Especially in the context of stagnant wages for the poor and middle classes over a 40+ year period. The same period in which productivity has skyrocketed and in which the profits of this increased capacity have accrued to a very tiny portion of society. CEO pay gap with their employees went from something like 20:1 in the 60s to like 300:1 today. Noone actually believes that CEOs have suddenly become this much more valuable in terms of their contributions, knowledge or productive capacity but here we are anyways.... with the plebes ever-ready to argue on behalf of their own serfdom. Good times.

I knew this thread would almost instantly lure people into it who try to defend the impossibly wealthy to make themselves look like winners. That train is never late man. Never. That’s why the system is so difficult to change. It’s victims keep protecting it.

When you’re wealthy you can live ABOVE everything the common folk have to deal with. You don’t have to worry about medical needs, racism, poor schools, a fucked up vehicle (or none at all), when you going to eat, gas prices rising, being able to purchase property, lobby for politicians to get laws in their favor, and so forth.

The plights of the common folk is not a concern to them other than “will they buy/use your product or not.” And when we don’t, they find ways to MAKE you submit.

I have always been for the wealthy getting the shit taxes out of them. Bill gates have enough money to give each American $1 billon dollars, but for some reason the laboring black man trying to feed his family has to work two jobs to stay above and barely enough time to keep his own health in check.

Kats love to point out what individuals ain’t doing in their life, but the truth is that in a capitalistic society the 1% have made a way to ensure the poor stay poor and in constant need which fills the pockets of the wealthy.

I’ll never in my life cape for rich folks. Ever.

Not everyone can be rich. It’s impossible and society will never allow it to happen. But these billionaires can drown in a sea of sewage and bitten by a billion fire ants for all I care.

I can’t believe humanity at times. Fuck them.

This topic actually pisses me off. Lol

You bringing up Jay Z is the same thing as global corporations hiding behind the small businessman when they want business friendly regulation passed...common tactic...find the one person that came up the hard way that the mass can identify with and hide behind that
