Rocky Johnson (born Wayde Douglas Bowles; August 24, 1944 — January 15th, 2020) was a Canadian professional wrestler. During his wrestling career, he became a National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Georgia Champion and a NWA Southern Heavyweight Memphis Champion, as well as winning many other championships. Along with his partner Tony Atlas, Johnson was a part of the first black tag team to win the World Tag Team championship in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).

RIP to Soul Man Rocky Johnson. I remember how excited I was as a mark kid when he and Tony Atlas defeated Afa and Sika for the tag belts.
I remember first seeing him when the early Chicago cable market was able to pick up WWOR out of Seacaucus, NJ. That is when I finally saw WWF on tv. It was a much different company back then pre Wrestlemania era.
