Thank goodness for Senator Elizabeth Warren. In this Senate hearing, she questions how Sallie Mae can take credit at 1/3 of 1% interest... ...then lend it to students for 20 times that. The agency lending the money to Sallie Mae is the Federal Housing Finance Agency. FHFA is undermining its own mission by providing cheap credit to private student loan lenders.
