I know United ain't shit as far as healthcare (I have them) but this is too much.

Nah, I have seen insurance companies do some disgusting shit
like refusing to cover cancer treatment over bullshit
or cancelling coverage half way through treatment
getting old women kicked out of rehab etc etc

i'm only surprised that shit like this does not happen more often

thats if its related to his job

could also just be something personal

Probably refused to cover treatment for someone's sick kid

or this is one of Trump's Putin-style ways of getting rid of those standing in his way

The New York Times, citing police sources, reported the shooting happened during the company’s annual investor conference in the city.

According to CNBC, UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty abruptly halted the meeting just after 8 a.m.

“We’re dealing with a very serious medical situation with one of our team members,” Witty reportedly said. “As a result, I’m afraid, we’re going to have to bring to a close the event.”

The Times reported the gunman apparently knew which door Thompson would enter and shot him several times from close distance. The CNBC added that the suspect, who is described as a white male dressed in black clothing, used a silencer.

A disgruntled parent with intel and a silencer..
Hmmm

Are they going to pass his salary to patients and workers?
No, it is going back to the corporation’s board of directors and shareholders along with the insurance policy payout they had on his life. I’m sure they had AD&D coverage on him so that double indemnity will multiply the payout because it was a homicide.

These corporate CEOs usually have armed security or bodyguards with them so I assume this was a younger or inexperienced CEO.

Probably denied someone life saving cancer treatment or bone marrow transplant.
These CEOs are going to be a target now if anyone thinks they are slighted. More people have nothing to lose now. The pay gap is too wide to play around with people like they are disposable especially when some people are eating more and better than ever.

It was probably the scenario you mentioned but more likely a former employee that was upset about something.
