The Official NBA 2016-2017 Los Angeles Lakers Regular Season Return to Playoffs Run

I see only 6 guaranteed teams that are going to make the playoffs in the West:

Warriors
Clippers
Spurs
Blazers
Wolves
Thunder

The Lakers have a young core full of talent that could easily pull together enough wins to get a 7th or 8th spot.

Not ready to jump on the Jazz bandwagon?

Jazz could be one of those teams that get the final two spots. They quit last year in the final 2 games. (Kobe 60)

All I'm saying is the Lakers are no longer a lottery team. The core is there to get to the playoffs.

Wolves over the rockets & suns as guaranteed

Damn smh on Kings, Grizzles, Rockets, Dallas if that shot happens.

That mean the Lakers gonna be 3rd in their division.

I'm moonwalk the hell outta here

Lakers wouldn't be better than the Grizzlies with or without Chandler Parsons.

Mavs and Rockets are still fighting for 8th.

Ingram doesn't put the Lakers in the playoffs unless he comes out the gate having 30 pt games.

We need to show some progress and need our young players to get better

Everyone on our team is a question mark

Has Randle developed a shot? If not, Nance might be a better option.
Is Ingram strong enough in his first year?
Can Russell show he's a point guard?
Young, Williams and Clarkson need to be able to make shots.

Our defense will probably be terrible though

I'm a Laker fan but we ain't ready. I think next year the Lakers can make it back into the playoffs. I expect good things from D Russel this year & Ingram with Clarkson being the x factor.

Russell has confidence

No Byron will only heighten it

The offense looks a lot better

Bringing Clarkson and Ingram off the bench means we shouldn't have much fall off with the second unit

1-0

I know it was just the 1st game and it was against the defenseless James Harden Rockets but the team looked good. Shooters at multiple positions to spread the floor. I hope they trade Nick Young for a defender or another low post player for rebounding.

I think we need someone else who can block shots

Mosgov looks like a good pick up

I really like the way the offense looks. It's a more exciting brand of basketball to watch.

Of course Luke allows them to shoot the three more. We shot over 30 three's and made 12. We normally only shot 12 threes during Byron's tenure, and often they were late in the shot clock threes by Kobe.

The Lakers are a fun young group to watch, but they should be patient with them and do not try to rush the maturity process... On paper they have talent to be a very good team, but its the off the paper shit they have to learn and sometimes the only way you do that with such a young team is by losing.
I always say that great teams often become great after they get sick and tired of losing, sometimes young kids are having so much fun in the NBA, on and off the court that as long as they get off losing isn't that bad... But with all great teams it comes a time when winning becomes everything and once that happens to a team, especially one with talent, then you will see them rise to greatness...
Right now the Lakers are building the right pieces and should be both competitive and fun to watch, but as far as playoffs.......Well anything is possible, especially in the weaker West, however making the playoffs this season shouldn't be the measuring stick for this team..

Randle has no awareness on defense at all.

If him and Black are on defense we have the T-Rex twins. They aren't blocking shit.

Da snitch gotta learn to pass the rock when his shot is off. Somalia pirate Lou Williams had it going. Ride the hot hand

I'm still not sure he's a PG

He's not, but don't be mamba junior either.

And Lou Williams does look like the Somalia pirate from captain Phillips

Young Lakers seem to always fight hard against the Warriors. Lakers got waves of shooters to bring off the bench and run with the Warriors.

When the Lakers blew them out last year, people said it was because the Warriors were mentally tired from trying to win over 73 games. Truth is the Warriors don't play defense. They just run and out shoot their opponents with threes. Lakers do about the same so it makes for equal match up.

these motherfuckers can't play defense for shit! They get by on their shooting, but when their shots aren't falling, they just don't lose, they get the shit kicked out kicked out of them because their defense is so shitty. Can't nobody tell me they don't miss Bogut... Jeezus :smh:

Call me crazy but I am going out on a limb with this one, I can easily see Curry signing with the Lakers and the Lakers officially becoming the Warriors 2.0.
