HARLEM, Manhattan — A suspect wanted on suspicion of attempted murder is on the loose after he escaped police custody while being transferred from an NYPD precinct.
Police say 23-year-old Tareek Arnold escaped around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday while he was being transported from a Harlem stationhouse. He was in handcuffs when he pushed an officer and ran away.
Residents in the area were urged to stay indoors Tuesday night.
Neighbors in Harlem have been on edge since Arnold escaped.
“Where can he be, how can this happen,” one neighbor told PIX11. “It’s like the two guys upstate, this is crazy.”
