Did his wife have a problem with the sex scenes? Why'd you tag me on this bro
That is exactly the part I found interesting
Apparently it was his wife that took issue with the sex scenes. That really struck me.
As someone who has known a few actors that part inevitably comes up at every dinner party.
And I thought you'd drop some unique opinion. It's ok to sit this one out bro.
I was buzzed last night. I'm ready now
When I first saw this I thought he was either gay and uncomfortable with the sex scenes or married and his wife was uncomfortable with the sex scenes
Turns out it was the second one, the wife.
Tropes are bothersome for a lot of creatives because they want to think outside the box and tropes appeal to the very basic side of human intelligence
When it comes to movies and entertainment shows, most rely heavily on tropes, which is one of the reasons why Michael Bay movies were so popular....stuff stuff stuff stuff EXPLOSION!!!!! stuff stuff...repeat
Tropes are one of the main reasons why you rarely see a completely original type movie because producers are scared not to rely on tropes at all, it's why you see a love scene or a kiss in the middle of a Jurassic Park movie when it really doesn't fit and there's no time and you should be too scared out of your shit to kiss someone, but to quote Dr. Ian Malcolm, "there it is."
I may have only watched an episode or two of the show so I don't know, but for the sake of the show and the showrunner I hope the story is good enough to hold the audience.
Without the tropes, some of your basic audience might leave. It depends on how much of that basic audience is still holding on to the story and the characters and not clinging for a Michael Bay explosion, because if that's the case it's got one or two seasons left
People are stupid, well most of them are, and a lot of the things we do are in support of those stupid people, which is why I'll probably add a sex scene or a love interest to my novel when it probably doesn't fit
