Wharton Refutes Kamala Harris’ Claims Her Presidency Will Bolster US Economy

The Wharton School, one of the best business schools in the US, has publicly corrected economic claims made by vice president Kamala Harris during the US presidential election campaign

The Wharton School has publicly denied claims made by vice president Kamala Harris that her success in the ongoing US presidential election will strengthen the US economy.

Harris, who is up against Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump, made the claims during a Unite for America event in Michigan alongside Oprah Winfrey. Referring to her economic plan, she said: “that is why Goldman Sachs […] is why Moody's, which is why Wharton School of Business, which is why 16 Nobel laureates, have collectively determined after analyzing our plans […] mine would strengthen the economy, his would weaken it.”

A spokesperson for the University of Pennsylvania’s research-based initiative Penn Wharton Budget Model (PWBM) told Newsweek: “We did not find a positive impact on the economy from her plan in any future year. The Trump plan does increase GDP for a few years but lowers by the end of the 10-year budget window.”

Harris’ claims about Wharton came from a PWBM report that compared Trump’s tax and spending proposals with hers. The report found that Harris’ economy policy would increase primary deficits, meaning the government would need to borrow more money, but less so than Trump’s proposals.

Yet the PWBM analysis stated that Harris’s plan would cause a larger drop in GDP over time compared to Trump:

Under Trump: GDP is expected to fall by 0.4% by 2034 and 2.1% by 30 years.

Under Harris: GDP is expected to fall by 1.3% by 2034 and 4% by 30 years.

Although a Goldman Sachs report found that the US economy would be boosted under the Democrats, David Soloman, CEO of the investment banking firm, also said that Harris overstated the findings in her Unite for America statement.

The University of Pennsylvania has political figures among its Wharton notable alumni, with former president Donald Trump having reportedly studied for an undergraduate degree in economics in 1968 at the School of Finance.

She could've linked the report she was referring to. Damn

Anyway look at them both and understand the basis for those numbers

I dont know what she gains by doing this interview. I like Uncle Luke but I think the black men that aren't going to vote for her are still not going to vote for her for other reasons other than her polices (See Killer Mike's comment about her being a prosecutor. Or the fact that she's a woman and "not black".)
Yeah I agree. This could have been done awhile ago and Luke is putting it out now.

The amount of energy I see people put into denouncing everything she does and would do, it’s pretty much useless speaking to people who have their minds made up.

But I actually want to see this because in the below clip, they did this in SC which is a lil different and unique from a lot of places just because till this day you can see remnants of the past esp if this was done on Charleston.

I’m curious if this is brother Moore speaking who is a state representative from Charleston county .

As stated by my brother here, that ADOD BS is not what SC brothers are on nor is it something we relate too

Man I always respected Mark, but I respect him even more.....Dude was killing it on CNBC this morning

Man my level of respect for this dude has gone up tremendously!

I didn’t know much about him beyond generic ownership of an NBA team and shark tank.

Let me see if i can find the interview he did recently that shed light on so many things including...

Elon Musk is a soulless ghoul. BUT here’s why he’s gone all in on Trump:

Agreed. That was a good clip and to contrasts it to Trump or Vance sitting in a black barbershop around black men. This actually kills their argument.

Left me with a new or rather deeper perspective on things

Cuban gives insight from a RICH persons perspective Why

1) Trump is and acts the way he does

2) Why Elon has gone all in on Trump (The answer may surprise you!)

3) Obviously alot on Harris and why CEO’s vastly favor her

4) The whole bullshit on Tarriffs and why Trump has it wrong

Jack Smith files evidence in Trump 2020 election subversion case

The special counsel’s submission is being kept under wraps, for now.

Special counsel Jack Smith has filed a detailed compilation of evidence he’s assembled to support charges that former President Donald Trump broke federal law in his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Smith’s office confirmed Thursday afternoon that prosecutors sent U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan the information in advance of a 5 p.m. deadline she set.

“We have complied with the court’s order,” spokesperson Peter Carr said. He declined to elaborate on the size or contents of the filing, although earlier this week prosecutors won permission from Chutkan to take as many as 180 pages to detail the proof they’d offer against Trump if and when the case goes to trial.

There was no immediate indication of the filing on the court’s public docket, but prosecutors had signaled their plan to submit the papers under seal — at least initially.
Spokespeople for the former president did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
It’s now up to Chutkan to determine whether and when to release the filing — or a redacted version — to the public. Trump is sure to protest any release of the information at all. His attorneys have argued that putting the detailed compilation in the public domain is a form of political interference just 40 days before Election Day.
Trump’s lawyers have also said the filing inverts the normal practice for handling motions in criminal cases, contending that Trump should have had the chance to offer his challenges to the case before prosecutors offered a response.

But Chutkan dismissed the Trump team’s arguments, noting that the prosecutors’ proposal to lay out their case to the judge was largely the result of an appeal Trump brought to the Supreme Court, arguing that he is entitled to sweeping immunity from criminal charges for his actions as president.

In their ruling on that issue in July, the justices ordered Chutkan to take a detailed look at Smith’s evidence to determine whether any of it should be treated as immune because of its connection to Trump’s official duties as president.
In a grand jury indictment filed in August 2023, prosecutors accused Trump of conspiring to disenfranchise millions of voters, obstructing Congress’ Jan. 6, 2021, proceedings and conspiring to defraud the government.
At a hearing earlier this month, Chutkan also rejected the Trump attorneys’ claims that the filing during the height of the presidential race was improperly geared toward influencing the election, saying she would not consider the political schedule in her decisions.
Trump’s response to Smith’s filing is due Oct. 17, but there could be skirmishing in the meantime over the issue of public access to the prosecutor’s detailed submission.
