Brooks - Dominique Wilkins wore their basketball brand (although they were more well known for their great running shoes back in the day).
Pro-Keds - Although I know many NBA players wore them, and they were popular at one point, they were played out by the time I started getting into wearing sneakers like that. Around my way, we used to say "Pro-Keds? Fish Heads!"
(Fish Heads = cheap, waaay-off-brand sneakers. The kind you begged your mother not to buy for you. The kind that got you mercilessly clowned on if you were caught wearing them in school. Kids are colder than BGOL.)
