Let's talk about those teams that had it, the perfect storm of talent, momentum, and opportunity .... then just completely fucked it up. This could be due to a variety of reasons like bad coaching, poor management decisions, or individual mistakes. I'll start with some obvious ones to get the thread going

2016 Atlanta Falcons
C2z-N9JUUAAxzkL

28 to 3 blown lead in the Super Bowl need I say more

They went 10-6 and made the playoffs the next season but loss to Philly (Champs) in the divisional.

2016 Golden State Warriors

73-9 regular season, the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals

They bounced back to win back to back chips, but they came with its own conservatory

1998 Minnesota Vikings

xtg8m9ieh8qik4vgvspb

Went 15-1 with a record-breaking offense led by Randall Cunningham, Cris Carter, Robert Smith & Randy Moss. Lost to the Falcons in the NFC Championship Game at home after Gary Anderson missed a 38-yard field goal his first all fucking year

The next year they went 10-6, but things weren’t the same.

Seahawks 2015 Super Bowl.. 99.99 percent of the world would’ve ran in for a td with beastmode, they decided to pass.. int for the loss… would’ve changed everything about that franchise from being a one and done to a possible dynasty.. would’ve changed the opinion about Tom Brady giving him another loss in the Super Bowl

1994-96 Seattle SuperSonics

1994 Entered the playoffs as the #1 seed with a 63-19 record. Became the first team in NBA history to lose to a #8 seed Denver in the first fucking round.

1995 Another first round exit this time to the Lakers

1996 Finally made it to the Finals, but lost in 6

Richard dumas smoking crack 1993 off season.. phoenix suns small forward that helped the suns have the best record in the league the previous yr and going to the nba finals. They lost to the bulls in 6 games but they still had a lot of upside going into next season.. than dumas failed the nba drug policy and got a yr suspension.. was a key piece to their offense and success and he wasn’t there.. suns finished 56-26 ( barkley missed 17 games due to injury) and lost to the eventual nba champs the rockets in 7 games in the semifinals.. if Richard dumas played definitively would’ve been a better team.. barkley could’ve won a ring but Dumas just couldn’t say no

2001 Milwaukee Bucks

Went to the ECF with a potent offensive led by Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson and Sam Casell. They had young talent on the bench with Tim Thomas, Micheal Redd and Rafer Alston. But dumb ass management and bitch ass George Karl closed and nailed that window SHUT.

2000-2004 Los Angeles Clippers

They wasted a collection of young talent if they invested in those dudes instead of moving parts to avoid paying people. I mean go back and look at those rosters man, damn...

1997 Orioles.

Coming off the Jeffrey Meier theivery. Second best record in Baseball, Manager of year, weapons all over. Lost in 6 to Indians. In Offseason, owner was beefing with Mgr which made them quit. The next 15 years the O's never had a winning season.

SF 49ers SB 58,won NFC title in comeback fashion,KC struggled all season and almost lost both playoffs games. SF literally gave the game to an inferior team. CMC fumbled on opening drive of game when team was driving for score, holding penalty on Trent Williams negated a pass play that cost points, fumbled punt led to KC TD,blocked extra point allowed KC to tie instead of having to go for TD,bad play call on 3rd and 4 that would have won game,Shanahan took ball in OT leaving Mahomes with ball last, didnt block Chris Jones on 3rd and goal from 4,allowed a clear 10 year completion in OT on 3rd and 12,didnt account for Mahomes running on 4th 1 from own 30 in OT and with all that they lost 25-22. that bullshit was why Philly blew the Chiefs out cause they had the blueprint from SF who were on the verge of blowing them out but couldnt stop choking and helping KC win

Okc being cheap and not giving harden a lil more money.. had a young team that just went to the finals. Had kd, Westbrook, harden, ibaka.. bunch of dudes in their early 20s not yet in their prime. 3 ended up becoming mvps.. all drafted.. could of been a dynasty but team was being cheap
