Why Black Folks LOVE a Well-Done Steak

What the hell?I get white people giving us bad parts of the animal that they didn't desire but what does that have to do with us ne-grows wanting well done meat over pink bloody meat?

Thank god I don't have to worry about any of that anymore cause I'm retired from eating beef.
 
Shit niggaz don't like pink meat and bloody meat. I peep this also applies for eggs. I don't like slimy Sunnyside eggs I want my eggs scrambled or in an omlet. Our women like their food real hot so that means most foods are gonna be well done. My cousin would get his wings well done from wingstop years ago. I like my steak medium well and I used to be one of them well done niggaz with my beef.
 
I like my steaks well done and the argument is always that well done steaks are too tough, rubber like or some other BS

My response is that's simply a person who can't cook for shit

My well done steaks are always juicy, super tender and delicious. I can't remember ever having one that was hard or rubber like as most people describe them.

Yeah man whites have tricked people into believing blood isn't actually blood. They even gave it a fancy name that I can't recall. Gtfoh it's blood. Cut any animal open and you get blood. But with steak it's different....yeah ok.

They drain the blood from meat when it is butchered that's literally like the first step after killing the animal.


Also black people have been eating raw meat for thousands of years. There are tribes in Africa that drink goat and cow blood.

I'm not a fan of slimy eggs. Japanese dishes have a lot of wet uncooked egg recipes.
 
Absolutely in Ethiopia for at least 3,000 years they have been eating Kitfo. Massai have been eating raw meat for thousands of years as well.
I know eat thoroughly cook meat cause have various African friends from diff countries in Africa and have eating their food.. so consuming thoroughly cooked variations of meat is just not an American black thing or something just cause of slavery

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I eat my steaks medium rare. I'm a hunter though. I like the flavor of "game" meats.
I didn't start to appreciate medium rare until I had some filet mignon probably about 10 years ago, my first filet mignon. Before then I've been eating cheap steak, what I know now is cheap steak.

You don't know till you know.

I made a steak for my old roommate when I made one for me. Throw it on the grill, cooked it, gave it to him. He took a couple bites, said I'll be right back.

Went out, 20 minutes later he came back with two butterflied filet mignon. Cooked it, gave it to me. I was like, it's pink bro. He said trust me, and I did...maaaaaaaan

Changed my life. I haven't fucked with cheap steak since. I'm a foodie, so I'll drive for some good food.

Now instead of going to the butcher at the store and getting the filet mignon that's already cut and expensive for no reason, I go get a whole loin and tell them to butterfly that shit, and they do.

One filet behind the counter at the grocery store: $20 or more.

One whole loin that you tell them to butterfly for you Just like the one behind the counter: $50-60, and you get 7 or more filets out of that.

Ethiopians eat Kitfo and they eat Beef tibs. One is raw one is well done. It's not that they don't eat what you would call thoroughly cooked meat they just aren't SCARED of raw meat like African Americans tend to be. My point was eating meat raw or even lightly cooked is not a white thing. It's common in all cultures other than African American.

What I mean is African Americans aversion to particularly medium or rare steak. Or what you would call not thoroughly cooked meat comes as a defense mechanism to slavery. We got the worse cuts so we had to cook them forever to be safe. So the aversion we have to not thoroughly cooked meat is a vestige of a defense mechanism from slavery. In today's time if you are buying a prime grade steak ($20/pound) you don't need to and it's not meant to be cooked for 30 minutes. There is no health reason or taste reason you would do that.

I think every dish is made particular to that dish. Stewed meat is cooked long and slow because it is tough and needs to be cooked slowly to get soft.

Steak is a particular cut of meat that does poorly when cooked for long periods of time. The cut of meat is not designed to be cooked forever. Beef ribs you can put in a slow cooker for 8 hours and they will be great.

Hell yea they do. I see that shit all over IG where they barely scramble their eggs just roll it after 10 seconds on the flat top.
 
Medium rare all day. Eggs scrambled soft. Wife scrambles eggs until they are brown. lol. Pass!
