DJ Candle had the most variation of the beat along with not straight ripping the sample.
I would've picked Richard Fitzwell had I not heard the original sample,
but having done so, he didn't flip it enough, so it was almost the same as the original.
I liked Respect's beat, but it was too monotonous, no real chorus or breaks,
but it was the most different from the original.
Bra Bra also did a good interpolation, but even moreso,
no variation in the beat; makes it get old kinda fast.

brabra takes the win on all accounts IMO.
dj candle second
respect third
fitzwell fourth - i didnt feel the sample was altered enough

Lexx Diamond [Mod]
I just listened to samples again and RICHARD FITZWELL, killed it.
I am going with RICHARD FITZWELL's use of that track.
It's smooth and well timed.

brabra has produced a percussion heavy slice of funk with a killer snare.
Love the keys in this too, kinda space age yet very organic. Track could
work well on the dancefloor too. Overall this one has a great feel good
factor that grows on you the more you hear it. A really nice instrumental.
DJCandle has used the sample to produce an organ led hiphop remix of a Nas joint.
The beat could of slammed a lil harder, so that the snare and kick hits you in the gut.
Still overall a well produced remix that works well with the vocals and great use of the sample.
This has real professional qualities to it and solid Jazz undertones.
RESPECT goes for the boombap and produces a chunk of hardcore metalic hiphop.
Simple use of the sample yet effective in it's own way. Would be nice with a rap on it now.
This producer can only grow and get much better and hopefully keep his feet planted in the boombap.
Richard Fitzwell lets you know from the gate that he aint fucking around.
The Notorious BIG's Kick in the door [originally a premo production] gets
the Fitzwell remix treatment and it crunches very well. Great use of the sample
showcases 2 sections for the verses and chorus. Sounds like Biggie has a band and
small orchestra behind him. Love the way Richard put that crusty old record static in
there, thats hiphop. This track has great movement and although not perfectly synced
that only helps to make it sound Live. I remember when hiphop sounded this good.
All great tracks from our talented BGOL Producers this month
and my personal winner is Richard Fitzwell.
