"WW C"- COVID-19, GLOBAL CASES SURPASS 676 MILLION...Here we go again 2025 are we ready for Trump to fuck this up again?

Exactly. I also see all of the "body positive" people telling people its OK to be obese are fucking quiet as hell right now. :smh:
You see that shit about New Orleans death rate is higher because of obesity and diabetes being rampant? It was on reuters. :smh: Knew this would hit the U.S. hard because of obesity.

Virus don't care about self-esteem issues and the lies people tell themselves.

I agree.

However, the mortality rate is also based on places that are testing mostly on those that are showing critical to severe symptoms versus places that are doing broader testing to everyone.

People that are asymptomatic are likely not getting tested near the same rate as those that are symptomatic. This gravely throws off the mortality rate.

But I do agree with you, the health concerns in the south will become (or is) a big problem.

I was reading that on MSN's news page too.

No doubt, but this was based off those who had died. Something like 25 percent were obese and 30 percent + had diabetes. They were looking at what underlying conditions the deceased had in common. This was a more specific look at the deaths to try to determine who is most at risk.

And remember, obese is different from being overweight. I bet if they expanded that shit to overweight the numbers would be higher. :smh:

Yeah, most people in the U.S. are obese, so that's a given that the percentages of those that die from the virus will be obese.

Diabetes and hypertension are definitely other factors as well. This virus is mostly selective on who it takes out, but it doesn't entirely exclude healthy individuals as well. Healthy folks just have a better chance of fighting it off.

I'm still curious about what makes a person asymptomatic though.

They did some studies on SARS. The asymptomatic people had lower levels of anti-bodies. I know viral load was a guess, but don't know if they proved it. Something about less exposure to the infection. Masks were mentioned being more common in asymptomatic cases.

Viral load and exposure are interesting topics. Does it make sense that the more of it you are exposed to when infected that the worse you might get? I'd just love to be alone with a fucking researcher so I could grill them on this and take notes.

They will be studying this for a long time trying to find answers since SARS and other virus studies might not apply here.

I think the viral load is the reason you are seeing many younger people here and in Europe need hospitalization and die from this. Obviously, people working in a hospital are at higher risk for repeated exposure but younger people who thought they were "immune" probably didn't self-isolate to the same degree as those who were originally told they were at risk. :smh: I said a while back that this shit would decimate Our communities in the South because of wide spread preexisting chronic illness, but I didn't anticipate that people would throw gas on the fire by not taking it seriously.:smh:

My boy, who drives a bus for the MTA, told me the other day that the Dominicans in Washington Heights were hanging out like it was a normal night on some "fuck Corona we drink Presidente" shit :smh:

I shouldn't laugh but that shit is so accurate. I had some wild "presidente" fueled nights in the Heights when I was younger fucking with those Dominicanas...:smh:

i cant remember the original thread that was made back last year when this virus broke out in china..anyone
