Trump Coronavirus Timeline

January 22: Trump: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

January 31: Hannity: “Coronavirus, how concerned are you?” Trump: “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China. We have a tremendous relationship with China, which is a very positive thing. Getting along with China, getting along with Russia“ February 2:

Trump: “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

February 10: Trump: “A lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat—as the heat comes in.” White House acting budget director Russell Vought: “Coronavirus is not something that is going to have ripple effects.”

February 24: Trump: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. . . . Stock Market starting to look very good to me.” Trump’s top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow: “You should seriously consider buying these [stock market] dips” [Note: The Dow Jones ended February 24 at 27,960. It closed March 11 at 23,553.] February 26:

Trump: “[The number of people infected is] going very substantially down, not up.” “The 15 [cases] within a couple of days, is going to be down to zero.” [Note: Two weeks later, as we compiled this list on March 11, there were over 1,000 confirmed cases in the United States.] February 27:

Trump: “It’s going to disappear one day, it’s like a miracle.”

February 28: Eric Trump: “In my opinion, it’s a great time to buy stocks or into your 401k. I would be all in . . . let’s see if I’m right.” [Note: The stock market closed at 25,409 on February 28. It closed at 23,553 on March 11.]

March 2: Trump on a coronavirus vaccine: “I’ve heard very quick numbers, that of months.” [Note: Immunologist Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has repeatedly said that a vaccine will not be available for a year or year and a half.]

March 6: Trump: “I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. . . . Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.” Trump: “I didn’t know people died from the flu.” Trump on whether or not to bring coronavirus patients on a cruise ship to shore: “I like the numbers being where they are.” Trump: “Anybody who wants a test gets a test.” [Note. This was a lie at the time and remains dangerously untrue today. The previous day, Vice President Mike Pence said, “We don’t have enough tests today to meet what we anticipate will be the demand going forward.”] Larry Kudlow: “We stopped it, it was a very early shut down, I would still argue to you that this thing is contained.” Larry Kudlow: “Investors should think about buying these dips.” [Note: The Dow Jones closed at 25,864 on March 6, over 2,300 points lower than the previous time Kudlow suggested investors “buy the dip.”]

March 9: Trump: “Good for the consumer, gasoline prices coming down!” Trump: “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths.”

March 10: Trump: “It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”

March 11: Trump: “If we get rid of the coronavirus problem quickly, we won’t need [economic] stimulus.” Trump [in response to a question from CNN’s Jim Acosta asking what he would “say to Americans who say you are not taking this seriously enough and that some of your statements don’t match what health experts are saying”]: “That’s CNN. Fake news.”

March 12: Trump: “We have ’em very heavily tested. If an American’s coming back, or anybody’s coming back, we’re testing. We have a tremendous testing setup where people coming in have to be tested. And if they are positive, and if they’re able to get through—because, frankly, if they’re not, we’re not putting them on planes, if it shows positive…” [Note. This is not true.]

March 13: Trump: “I don’t take responsibility at all.”

March 17: Trump: “I’ve felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”

Fuck this orange idiot and anyone still trying to defend any part of this shit. :smh: We could have been acting weeks ago...

Are you really trying to give him credit for doing something that he denied was a problem and that he called a hoax until recently? This was him in January:

“We have it totally under control,” Trump told “Squawk Box” co-host Joe Kernen in an interview from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “It’s one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

:smh: :smh: :smh:

Yes, while the republicans called it a "hoax" the democrats definitely didn't do anything like fight to increase the budget to include Covid-19 funds while Trump still tried to cut the CDC budget...

Russ Vought, the acting director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, on Tuesday doubled down on proposed cuts to health services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), despite the coronavirus outbreak.

While the republicans called it a "hoax," the democrats never had their congressional hearing cut short because trump didn't like what they were saying publicly...

Or introduce legislation to address it that only republicans voted against...

The democrats also forced the republican controlled senate to go on recess for the weekend when they could have taken up the house bill...

Clearly, the democrats acknowledging the problem and actively trying to do something about it is the same as the republicans trying to cut the CDC budget during a pandemic or the White House interrupting congressional hearings to stop experts from saying things publicly that would undermine the republican position. It's both sides though, right? :smh::smh::smh:

NYC mayor just said on MSNBC that NYC had 100 new cases and 5 deaths this evening since he left office to go to NBC studio! That is horrible beyond words

Unfortunately, fam, this is only going to get worse. It has to get worse. There is no way around it. We didn’t act fast enough and people are showing their stupidity.

However, the brightside of things is our society will continue to go on because this isn’t going to destroy humanity. Not even close. Your more than likely to recover from this and we will eventually have a vaccine.

Humanity needs this humbling. We’ve been on cruise control for too long and people took things for granted. Hell, many still are.

So, as a side hustle, I’ve been thinking about offering tutoring sessions since all the kids are out of school and will need help with math.

I have all the technology to do remote tutoring, so I’ve been considering it. It’s sounds like a good idea and a very noble one, but I’m just not trying to spend the extra time and commitments.

I could easily do this. I know the parents are going to need the help. And I’m a damn good teacher. I just don’t like doing it all the time.

I advocate for it. I have a carrying case for a variety of tea bags. I’m known as the tea drinker. I’ve put so many people on. The healing powers are for real.

I mostly tell folks, it’s not a one time thing. You have to drink it regularly to gain the benefits from it.

I want to make it clear that I believe in Jesus Christ as the True Lord and Savior.

TEA DRINKER FOR LIFE! GRANDPARENTS PASSED IT ON TO MOMS AND THE KIDS, COLD OR HOT DAY ! HAHA

All year, bruh. Keeping the immune system built.

I got sick once last year, but it didn’t last long. I can usually knock the common cold or flu out in less than a week.

Sore throat. I’m drinking hot tea.
Congestion. I’m drinking hot tea.
Upset stomach or gas? Not a problem. Hot tea. Lol.

:looks around:

Lemme show you my stash....

The back right has coffee, and there's a box of tea filters for loose tea. Everything else is tea...:o:o:o

TeaStash1.jpg

I found a couple more after I took the first pic. Don't judge me...lol...

TeaStash2.jpg

Actually one of the best teas I've found that helped was the Stash Chai Green tea. If I stopped drinking it I used to catch colds. I like the spices better than some of the blends in other Chai teas. I didn't realize it was supposed to have an effect on the immunity until I read the book I posted recently. I always just heard it was good for metabolism and weight loss. Bodum used to make a gunpowder green tea that was a thing of beauty. It wasn't quite as bitter as the other gunpowder teas on the market. If I felt bad, I drank a cup and I was good for the rest of the night. My sister in law was feeling horrible, head ache, etc. I gave her a cup and 15 min later she was good to go. She took 6 packages back home with her....lol.... I've never had a tea that effective.

From the book:

Sambucus ebulis protects mice from the teratogenic effects of albendazole. TheraMax, a proprietary blend of green tea and elderberry (Sambucus nigra), is effective against seven of eight strains of influenza A and B (in vitro); when used on mice infected with mortal doses of influenza viruses, it significantly slowed the arrival of death, curtailed weight loss, and improved lung hemorrhage scores. Sambucus ebulis eaves were found to possess potent wound healing activity when used as an ointment on mice. Sambucus williamsii extracts (part of plant not stated but it was apparently the leaves or stems) exerted protective effects on ovariectomy-induced bone loss in rats. It improved trabecular bone mass and cortical bone strength, decreased urinary calcium excretion, increased serum calcium levels, increased tibial bone mineral density, and exerted ben-eficial effects on the microarchitecture of the trabecular bone. A methanolic extract of the stems of Sambucus sieboldiana (S. racemosa subtype) was found to possess antiosteoporotic activity. It inhibits bone resorption in ovariectomized rats.In a particularly interesting study, mice were given Sambucol, an extract of elderberry. It caused a shift in immune response in the face of micro-bial challenge. In mice then infected with leishmania parasites, Sambucol delayed the onset of the disease by upregulating Th1 cytokines. However, when given to mice challenged with malarial parasites, the incidence of cerebral malaria increased substan-tially. In essence it exacerbated the Th1 dominant cytokine cascade during malarial infection, leading to a worsen-ing of symptoms. The berries appear to possibly act as a Th1 activator, while the leaves act as a Th1/Th2 modulator. (So, don’t take the berry syrup if you have malaria.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HMGB1 is also released when the nuclei of cells are damaged, as they are during influenza infections. HMG proteins are held in the nucleus to help in forming DNA complexes and regulating gene expres-sion. When HMGB1 is expressed in lung tissue, as it is during severe influenza episodes, it causes massive neutrophil infiltration into the lungs and acute lung injury. As the storm progresses respiratory failure (requiring mechanical ventilation), acute renal failure, and systemic shock all occur. In severe cases such as these, antivirals (oseltamivir), antibiotics, and corticosteroids have all been found to be ineffective. Common steroidal drugs (e.g., dexamethasone and cortisone) have consistently been found to have no effect on HMGB1 levels, and the same can be said for NSAIDs such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and indo-methacin — even at superpharmacological concentrations. However, a number of herbs and herbal constituents do have direct suppressive actions against the protein. Direct inhibition of HMGB1 with herbs such as Angelica sinensis and Salvia miltiorrhiza protects mice both before and 24 hours after infection with normally lethal influenza viruses. The licorice constit-uent glycyrrhizin directly binds HMGB1, inactivating its actions in the body. The green tea component epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) also inhibits HMGB1, as does quercetin. Counterintuitively, nicotine also significantly lowers HMGB1 in the lungs. The pharmaceutical minocy-cline has also shown the ability to reduce HMGB1 levels; its use should be explored in hospital and pharmaceutical settings.During severe influenza infections reducing HMGB1 is essential.
Usually when it comes to colds and flu I use herbal formulas. The one I've been using for the past 5 years or more is Defense plus. It's been sold out every where but I picked up two bottles this week at the Vitamin Shoppe. I gave it to my brother the other week along with the Vitamin c and zinc and he was straight in a day or two.
I also made him some tea. I got up this past weekend and he had been making tea... I think I have a convert. I keep telling him that for the most part it should taste good, and I have stuff that is supposed to have antiviral properties, but he's been making some extra strong cups with multiple bags with multiple flavors that I don't think go well together.
I picked up a couple of other formulations I haven't tried yet, and there is one or two more I want to get this weekend, but they have been sold out also.
I purchased this tea this weekend and you can sort of feel the menthol effect when you breathe. I wanted to try it before I recommended it to my sis. She's had respiratory issues off and on for years.
I also picked this up because the gypsy cold care that I picked up tasted off. Too much licorice or something. This is more flavorful and it seemed to help the scratchy throat I got over night this past weekend.
Here are some of my numerical predictions of the death tolls for the next 12 days worldwide.
The red data that you see on the chart are predicted values. The black data are observed. In the next 12 days, the death toll worldwide may rise to 15,028.
I used a 5-degree polynomial regression line since the correlation value was nearly 100%. The problem with using this line to predict anything further than 12 days is that this type of regressional is a sine wave, so it peaks, then dips in values after a particular time.
Corona.PNG
The exponential function is far scarier but has a correlation coefficient of 86.3%. That means the equation for the exponential function is less connected with the observed values. The predicted death toll using the exponential function is nearly 30,000 in 12 days.
Corona-exp.PNG
These are just predictions and not meant to represent any type of truth. I would advise not to use these charts as any type of assertion or factual information as it neglects many factors that can't be accounted for.
The data I used to make these charts are from
Nice graph, but there is not enough data to make a regression line on this. Even if it's only for 12 days. You could have just as well used a death growth factor of 10% and called it a day.
Edit: If you want a dataset to play around with, you can try this one https://www.kaggle.com/sudalairajkumar/novel-corona-virus-2019-dataset.
Lol. Sometime you just got to let folk try their own way. I agree, the tea should take good. That’s why I am a fan of adding in allspice and ginger in my tea. It gives a spicey/sweet taste to my liking. And it work with most teas that I drink.
Thanks for the recommendations on the out stuff. Any support to the immune system is a plus, especially during these times.
My wife and daughter are on the tea trip as well, but my wife mainly drinks chai.
Death tolls growth and the numbers of days is all I needed to make a simple regression line. I was only looking for predicted values. Suggesting that I use a 10% growth factor for a 12 day predicted value is saying that the increase is linear or stable, which it isn’t. Especially considering I provided two completely different functions that gives two different out comes.
However, the dataset you provide was something I was looking for, so I appreciate that.
It was obviously not a suggestion. It was stating that assuming a 10% growth, which isn't correct, is as accurate as trying to fit regression lines with the very limited amount of data you used.
