The red data that you see on the chart are predicted values. The black data are observed. In the next 12 days, the death toll worldwide may rise to 15,028.
I used a 5-degree polynomial regression line since the correlation value was nearly 100%. The problem with using this line to predict anything further than 12 days is that this type of regressional is a sine wave, so it peaks, then dips in values after a particular time.
The exponential function is far scarier but has a correlation coefficient of 86.3%. That means the equation for the exponential function is less connected with the observed values. The predicted death toll using the exponential function is nearly 30,000 in 12 days.
These are just predictions and not meant to represent any type of truth. I would advise not to use these charts as any type of assertion or factual information as it neglects many factors that can't be accounted for.
