Some of these people elevator is not going all the way up to the top floor. This is why Covid went around rapidly in the United States.
Honestly, this is still where I am on this. We were very lucky that 1) this disease was detected relatively early enough to prevent a massive outbreak and 2) treatment/vaccines were already being worked on and could be implemented in short order.
In theory, this could have been a good dry run for what to do in a much more serious outbreak. As it stands, it just goes to show how bad things will get if/when a more virulent/more deadly disease ever gets out. Hopefully, the higher leveled political offices/agencies will be filled with people with more common sense, but I'm not willing to bet on that.

As I've noted in years past ... I'd go into a place properly masked up. Seniors would be in there without a care in the world (prior to vaccine or booster support) and they'd give me a look. Keep in mind I'm LESS than half their age.

I was talking to my dad yesterday. Grandpa (his dad) passed in 2006 at 83. The other day would have been his 100th birthday if he were alive. I'm glad him and grandma (passed in 2008) weren't around for the past 3+ years of pandemic bullshit. Glad I didn't have to worry about their health & well-being on top of other stressors.
