What's really uncomfortable to me is how bad (or really, how much worse) things would have to get before they would even consider doing that again. What's worse is one of the larger issues defining that idea is probably that we're going in to an election year. No one is going to want to campaign as "the candidate that shut things down again". Sad, but true.

We never really had a lockdown in the west. Shit was a joke. Folks having house parties and visiting friends/family. What were labeled essential businesses and not essential was laughable. Folks could be outdoors and in crowds for certain activities, but not others.

Looking back, all they did was crush small businesses. Shit was a clownshow. If people want to lockdown(like I did), they have to do it themselves.

Now China, they had REAL lockdowns.

Yeah, this thread not being a sticky I forget all about Covid.

Sadly, finding good info on this is actually a research project due to the politics/economics of all this. Covid has been downplayed for awhile now. Now I'm seeing reports of mask mandates coming in places.

Some of us in here know it's always been hold our own nuts, but it's harder when they took away the reporting and declared this shit as over.

Real shit unfortunately.

It's been difficult to stand on my square with regard to wearing a mask no matter what and still not being around and fucking with people, especially when I'm the only one still really doing it.

But every time I start to have doubts or waiver I'll see something that reinforces that this shit is still very real and it reminds me to keep doing what I know needs to be done no matter what other people have chosen.
