I just got my email and scheduled my appointment for one of my series S. I haven't heard from M$ about the other. I am still on the lookout for a Series X.

That's kind of been an open secret for a while. As long as it's from Amazon Japan directly they'll usually ship it, but it's going to take a month to get here because they do it by boat and it will be expensive. I think I saw some posts that said it was $50. If there is an air option it will still take up to two weeks and the chances of it being intercepted by customs for inspection is higher
Hopefully, the people doing this are planning on keeping it otherwise expect to see people pissed because customs opened it or because a typhoon or similar delays it so it's cutting close to Christmas.
