And this is why the Kamala Harris move was very important. I’m seeing a big picture now with Biden leaving the race. This shit that trump said even scares some Republicans. As much as I love Obama, I don’t ever want him to be king of the United States. The Republicans are in a huge pickle right now. Trump cannot for the life of him can’t talk about policies. It’s easy to say that but you ignore the reality that there are undecided voters out there. There are 2016 Trump to 2020 Biden voters, Clinton/Trump voters, there are people who could legitimately vote Harris or Trump (or not at all) in November. That’s why Harris has a campaign!
I’m not defending these people and can’t articulate their incomprehensible reasoning (which can be wildly different from person to person) but you have to understand that they exist.

Edit to add: Also, Harris gaining in the polls over Biden in the past week is proof of this! Potential voters were persuaded to support the Democrat! And more of them have to be for her to win!

The one way Trump could actually achieve a dictatorship is if he commandeered the military to use force, or its threat, throughout the country on his behalf. But there’s no reason whatsoever to think he could pull that off.

The Supreme Court ruled that a sitting president has absolute immunity for official acts for the first time in history. The President is the commander in chief of the military. If he gives them an order, it is an official act.
