Teen Sisters Are Youngest Owners of Beauty Supply Store In California
teen-girls-open-beauty-supply_316x373_69.jpg

The rumors are true—Black women rock. As the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in America with a 322% rise black women-owned businesses in less than 20 years, it is no surprise that younger Black women are diving into business ownership head first. Sisters 19-year old Kayla and 21-year old Keonna Davis opened KD Haircare Supply in March to celebrate and service natural hair and weave hair clients in Moreno Valley, California. The sisters were concerned about the lack of beauty supply store owners who looked like them and they wanted to make a change.

Thus far there has been an overwhelming response to this new business and the duo is loving the outpouring of support from everyone. Best of all, they also take online orders if you do not live in Moreno Valley.

KD Haircare Supply is currently open Mon -Thursday 10am-6pm; Friday from 9am-7:00pm and Sat from 9am-6pm.

They still have to deal with the Asians but at a different level...
The funny part is Asians don't like each other. As much as the black community spends on hair that goes straight to Asians, I'm surprised black folks worth over $100 million haven't started to get together to dominate and push Koreans out. Deal with the Vietnamese or another group that has cheap labor. Shit, go through Africa. Sounds cold to use cheap labor in Africa, but a takeover has to start somewhere.

The Civil Rights movement paved the way for Asian immigrants to come and make the presence they now have. Time to stop letting them eat for free. Back taxes should be collected.

Good shit especially at their age.All parents should teach their kids to start a business before telling them to go to some fancy school to beg the white man for a gig.

Man this something I started briefing my girls on years ago...
Probably while in the 3 & 4 grades...
Back then they really didn't get it but now it's understood(had to get my moms to understand also).

Oldest wants to open her own urgent care building.
(years pervious she wanted to work at a doctors office, with the in depth talks that mentality changed)

We talk about passive income, different means to product passive income etc...

told me Sunday she wants to go to Stanford...

about an hour ago, I was telling her about the importance of taking honor classes, knowing what the college of choice require for entrance etc, along with gaining as much knowledge as possible to make school work simple and second nature....
(Basically I'm telling her to preparing yourself to be the best you could be, strive for greatest)

Excellent. Should happen everywhere. Fuck those Asians.

Another thing, many have the ideas but don't know the starting point or have the connection to make these type of ideas flourish.

There was an old building that Movie Gallery vacated.... I looked at it for a few months and knew it would be a nice place for a beauty supply store. At that time I had the hook up(through a relatives) to China, that probably could've linked us to this industry (beauty supply work).
The relationship falls apart, months later...BAMMMM this Asians family open a beauty depot in that same building....

But I have other business ideas for the same strip mall area, with one being something that's simple with minimum overhead and needs little man power...

Yeah you doing a great job.I don't have no kids yet but I'm gonna do everything possible so they can be ready to succeed in life and plant the seed in their mind of being an employer instead of an employee.

It's always the children of the entrepreneurs that ruin everything. They never want to stay in the family business. But let's just celebrate that they're teenagers owning a business. A business that focuses on ones self. If you can't love yourself, it's hard to love others. If we can just appreciate who we are, who knows what it would do for our psyche.

Thank cacs for allowing Asians to get loans during the 60s while we couldnt. Them dirty cacs told them the only place they can open up shop was in our hoods so they did. Crackas being crackas. All we had to do was not shop there and they'd go under. Won't happen though.

Agreed. But the first step is to take control of the retail markets. Then target the distributors.
Then get your own connects.

Just like the Wire.
You are right, those Koreans hit the market like Rambo. They have got started. Wish I had the money to open one. I am against smoking weed but I like the moves Bankroll Fresh was making. Getting that street money and doing some growth and development with it.

If you can afford to stock inventory, owning a beauty supply store in urban areas is like printing money... I went to buy a clipper guard the other day, and the whole damn place was filled with HAIR!! LOL... The Asians have even gotten slick by putting a salon in the back of the mofo.
