YouTuber bought a $140k Telsa. Guess how much it's worth, 2 years later.

Muthafuckaz gone be learning some hard lessons with their electric cars, especially Tesla's exclusive expensive ass. I gotta cousin who has one and he's my controlled experiment and I told him I'm watching how yo experience goes. Most mechanics can't work on em; with Tesla, they have no access to the software or equipment to fix them. The tires on them EVs are heavy and expensive as hell compared to gas cars. The mile range is a gamble, you pretty much have to drive slow and don't haul shit to keep a long range. Charging is an issue. Too many issues for a nigga to worry about. I would get an EV in 15 years after this crash course is over and all kinks have been worked out and all shops have everything on hand to fix them shit.

True. It only makes sense if you buy an EV from a legacy company and flip it every few years. I considered the Corvette e-Ray until I started seeing so many traded in within a year. No thanks.

Battery degradation and uncertainty is the biggest reason why EV’s depreciate rapidly. Newer models have better tech so constantly updating them, pushes older EV’s out the door as dated tech. Once the EV industry can sort out the battery and offer long term solutions, the deprecation rate should settle.

That being said, buying an older EV is the way to go like the guy said. Let someone else eat the deprecation and you can have a luxury car for 1/3 the price.

High mileage EV’s with solid batteries are many times better in every way than their gasoline counterparts. If you can snag one with great battery life, the other stuff is minimal. Brakes, suspension, tires, all a simple fix.

Ask him where he got the idea that his car would appreciate. Some of us go back in time to where the sale pitch was we can use the car as a robotic taxi and sit back and count the money. Some of us go back to when the car could be used as a school bus and an autonomic chaperone.

That BMW was not a good comparison. That's why I don't like videos like this.

The BMW M5 CS is a highly sought after car for BMW folks.

Teslas have HORRIBLE resale value. Model 3s are like Toyota Corollas on these streets.

That's why that dork elon is trying to get the government to buy all those shitty Cybertrucks.

Sales are so slow, they need to unload a bunch of surplus sitting around collecting dust.

Do you have to take it to a Ford dealership to have it worked on?
Yeah, mostly cause there’s not a lot of EV repair shops, but honestly EV’s are super reliable. I’ve owned two Chevy Volts and never seen a day in the shop other than getting a software update to improve charging(no cost). Bought my daughter one with 160k on the odometer. Almost a year later not single issue and she’s a teenager so I know she ain’t treating that car well.

I'm still trying to figure out why the people with common sense haven't laughed that cyber truck out of existence.

Not much better. Lightnings were hot for two seconds and now can be had for half the price two years later. It’s a great time to purchase an EV. Its probably not gonna get much better with a slow economy, and the EV subsidies will probably get axed this year.
Exactly!! That $7,500 tax credit might be gone or super restrictive by the end of the year.

There are some pretty good lease deals out there right now.

I was looking at that Honda Prologue and they have some really good lease deals out right now.

Best way to go is lease these EVs. The depreciation on these is getting pretty bad!

Yeah I will never buy a Tesla. Wifey’s co worker bought a Model S like 6 years ago and wanted a Porsche after 2 years.

Porsche dealership was only going to give her like 20k and she paid over 100 K for that BS. I will never touch that car.

I remeber back in 2011 or 2012 in DC having a Tesla was a status symbol. Now them shits are Honda accords, but atleast you can drive an accord for many years of you take care of it.

If it wasn't for government subsidies, aka welfare for businesses, Tesla as a car company wouldn't be worth shit..

Their charging network was by far their best investment which generates a ton of money for them, especially from other brands.

An aside. Elon wants to unload those shitty Cybertrucks by forcing the Gov't to buy them using our tax dollars. That is bullshit.

On topic. I was considering an EV but there's too much to worry about as mentioned. I just want to remote start and go.

Fuck that, I rather have a car with gas to not have to worry about them electric cars shutting down in the middle of the road or driving off the cliff because you can't control that shit. Also, I don't like these self driving cars, if a person can't drive, they should catch transportation or get taxi, Uber or Lyft or a chauffeur to take the where they need to go which in my opinion is more safer.

Why lease unless under a biz name. In personal name it's just renting...throwing away money.

Going EV is for status and the experience. I have yet to see where it's the most economical move unless you're going with a bolt or something and you don't drive much...even at that it's cheaper to maintain a used car.

Spending 35 to 150k and then talking about no gas (3, maybe 6k a year) and you'll probably only have the vehicle 5 years doesn't pass cost benefit analysis.

If you want it at any cost then go head and make sure you enjoy it to make it "worth it".

Simply carrying insurance for a year on that vehicle means they lost money. Also not including the depreciation value of the dollar.

The best and cheapest electric cars in the world is BYD, a Chinese brand. However, Biden put a 100% tariffs on them.

I've seen that dude ForestReviews on utube talk about BYDs...... those things are incredible for how cheap they are...... however the trade off is, China is monitoring/scraping the data lf every device you connect to it,......

If they ever offer the infotainment system in English, then there may be a real concern.... as it stands they have a Luxury EREV that's only like $45K..... with features/ amenities a $110K Escalade / Navigator doesn't have... so even with 100% markups its still a value
