Now we know why Isaiah Thomas was left off the DREAM TEAM

lol @ the kissing shit..they were clowning

obviously it was politics... pippen should have used his second response for the first... Zeke deserved to be on that team more than Pippen did.

Clyde told the truth...shit was a chemistry thing and cats didnt really like zeke...

:itsawrap:

I think everyone respected Issiah's game but as an individual he just rubbed everybody the wrong way. I never like him as a person but as a player he had plenty game.

Sorry, but certain NBA legends are underrated, IMO.

1. Dream: C'mon, fam. Dude finished top 10 in four major statistical categories. How the fuck does he not get mentioned as POSSIBLY the best center? Championships? He got two, and that shit has far more to do with the organizations willingness/ability to bring in quality players and coaches than it does to do with any one player. Dream was not lacking in ability, so obviously his team let HIM down.

2. Zeke: Tremendous amount of game, but his heart was probably even bigger than his game. One of those dudes I respect 'cause he had zero fear of MJ.

Zeke should have been on that game... He was BETTER than Stockton... and he got SHITTED on... The ONLY person who shouldn't have been there was Laettner... He was a WASTE OF SPACE...

:rolleyes:Stockton is a better point guard than Thomas. Who was a better small forward than Pippen at that time? The answer is nobody.

The team went undefeated. The annoying Thomas wasn't missed.

College player of the year and the lone representative of what the Olympic b-ball team was SUPPOSED to be about. Nothing wrong with having him on the team.

Look, fuck all the dumb "we where gonna be with each other for long periods of time" shit. Zeke should have been on that team, point blank, period.

Zeke was on the downside at the time, while Stockton was in his record-breaking PG prime. No contest, especially given what a shithead Thomas was.

"Cats" meaning Jordan  there was plenty of chemistry with everybody else
Jordan's faction was bigger than Magic's at this time

I'll take my leave now before Stan the Pa-TROLL-man comes back

Mike was the main reason...but Mike, Malone, Pippen,etc... there were multiple players who didnt want him on that team man

Doesn't matter how hated Thomas was (which was a lot, and deserved). Fact is he was not worthy of being on the team over Johnson, Jordan, Drexler (in his prime averaging 25 PPG) and Stockton (breaking Assists records). "Zeke" was just a couple of years away from retiring, and wasn't anywhere near an All-NBA player like the others.

You guys fail to realize it don't matter how good Issiah was, no one wanted to play with him. End of story!

It's not exactly a secret that Thomas was an asshole and not very well-liked.

And the fact that he was the way out as a player made it all the easier to exclude him. Seems like the squad did pretty well without his help.

LOL, Isiah hung 52 points on Stockton's ass after the Olympic team announcement.

It was 1992, Isiah was a All Star that year.

NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player (1981)
NBA All-Rookie Team (1982)
12× NBA All-Star (1982-93)
2× NBA All-Star Game MVP (1984, 1986)
3× All-NBA First Team (1984-86)
2× All-NBA Second Team (1983, 1987)
2× NBA Champion (1989, 1990)
NBA Finals MVP (1990)
U.S. Olympian (1980)
J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award (1987)
NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team (1996)
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (2000)
Detroit Pistons #11 retired

christian laettner :hmm:

Christian Laettner was only on the team because they wanted a college there as well. And he got the spot allegedly because he was the player of the year that year. Most people thought Shaq should have gotten the spot instead and I would have liked to have seen Alonzo Mourning get the spot.

Larry Bird was better... 'Nique was better...:dunno:

True... but he STILL should have been there.

Bullshit.... because those other Olympic teams had PROS on them... Why do you think they did the DREAM TEAM in the first place... America was the ONLY country NOT using PROS...for years... I understand why Laettner was there BUT he was a WASTE OF SPACE nonetheless...

Stockton was nowhere NEAR as good as Isiah... NOWHERE... Isiah used to ABUSE John Stockton... He GAVE Stockton nightmares... ONLY Magic, Jordan, Hakeem the Dream and Bird were better... MAybe Karl Malone... THAT'S IT... Everybody else were LESSER TALENTS... INCLUDING SCOTTIE PIPPEN... who was a product of Jordan's success...

Zeke tore Stockton a new one that first game they played after the announcement.Of course it did lead to this the next time they played.
