Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wrong?

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

You asked me where there was racism done by black people and I give you one better and and show racism with institutional discrimination as the effect by giving you the Ivorian Civil War and yet you still are telling me I haven't give you an example.

Not only that YOU are the one asking me to give you examples and when I do and explain myself you are telling me I trying too hard.

I can't win either way.

But I guess it's my fault. I've been here long enough to know practical conversations are hard to come by.
Nigga thats not fucking racism. When tha British were fucking over tha Irish to you that was racism?????
Sunni vs Shitte that is racism???

Find me any credible scholar that agrees with your point of view on what racism is and i'll rest my case.

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

What about who created the concept of race?

Can you answer that?

I said Europeans (for the most part, there is evidence that Indians in their exploration had to find a way to account for individuals who looked different from them in their records).

The concept of race as it stands today is wholly a concept of the westernized world.

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

And under my definition they would be.
WHY they are is a different issue.

so are the Africans that sold slaves racist?

No.
I will not give you any more examples.
I've done enough. And whatever I've done you've chastised me by insinuating I am white simply because we have a difference of opinion.

My conversation with you is over.

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

so are the Africans that sold slaves racist?

I am not aware of the full implications of Africans selling slaves off.

But based on what I understand with tribes selling slaves off and what I am defining as racism I would say no because it wasn't based on hate.

But again, I will say I don't have much education on that matter.

When you say Indians, who do you mean?

Indians from India?

:confused::confused::confused:

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

And Kefta, this is where I think you have it wrong.
Yes, they constructed it.
But it can change. It can assume itself with other individuals.

So let's take patriarchy for example.
This is a construct designed by men.
But women are agents of patriarchy to their own kind.
And they do it especially when it's not in their best interest to continue an agenda of patriarchy.

It is the same with racism.
I think I gave a pretty good example with Ivorian Civil War.

I mean I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree here.

So how has it changed and how has it affected white folks? Give examples in all areas of people activity (Education, Entertainment, Economics, Labor, Law, Sex, War, Religion, etc) in their interaction to black folks.

I am not talking about patriarchy. I am referring to a power relation system that is about mistreating and dominating people on the basis of race... We don't have to agree to disagree. We should instead be honest and speak the truth that is based on the given evidence. The Ivorian Civil War is not a good example because if it involved black people then it has nothing to do with race/racism because black people DO NOT BELONG TO A RACE AND THEY HAVE NEVER BELONGED TO A RACE.

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

When you say Indians, who do you mean?

Indians from India?

:confused::confused::confused:

Yes.
Well I mean generically.
Before they were colonized they also had their own history.
They weren't the only ones exploring.

I am not claiming to be an expert in any of this.
Just speaking on things I've read in the past and have been told by my professors.

I reserve the right to be wrong.

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

He was extremely brilliant but wrong on this one. Every race and creed is racist.

And there you go again with it can never change.
Millions of people (if not billions) would disagree with the fact that race doesn't exist.
It may not a construct that is fair (although some would argue with you, particularly those who believe that "Black Power" is a constructive strategy) but it exists.
And I'm sure you would have issues going into Ivory and saying hey, you're not different from each other.

That being said, I'm trying to understand your question.
You are asking how has racism changed and how has racism affected white people?
Am I correct?

Ok so putting this together, you are saying that Europeans and Indians from India were exploring the world.

Then Europeans and Indians created the concept called race to account for he people they met when they were exploring?

Where were they exploring? When did this happen?

:confused::confused::confused:

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

He was extremely brilliant but wrong on this one. Every race and creed is racist.
Just like I asked tha other ass clown show historical evidence of Black people practicing racism on another race anywhere in tha world at any time period.

Race exists since white folks said that it existed. Now, if white folks say that it doesn't exist then that is what they would have said. I am saying that black people have never belonged to a race not until white folks told them that they did. THAT'S A PLAIN STATEMENT THAT IS TRUE.

Thus, the example with the Ivorian War has nothing to do with black people being racist or practicing racism.

Yes, how has it changed? Since when have black people belonged to a race? According to who, According to what? Why? And yeah, how do black people practice racism in all areas of people activity in their relationship to white people as a collective? How do they do it in say, economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, sex, war, religion, etc?

:confused::confused::confused:

No what I am saying is that Indians explored the world just like the Scandinavians did, just like the Native Americans did. Their way of classifying individuals other than themselves (keeping in mind that India is large and was and still is made up of different types of ethnicities) is much different than the way the Europeans did with their exploration.

It can be strongly argued that Europeans did it mostly as a strategy of power.

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

White folks calling everything that is NOT racism, racism and everything that is racism, NOT racism.

Every race is racist :smh: Folks like to apply their reality to black people's reality. Thus, justifying their actions of mistreatment and maintaining the status quo. :smh:

Kefta, we are going round and round in circles because we disagree on the principle that race is a social construct and can change.

I gave the Ivory example but you reject it because we disagree on that principle.

Furthermore what you are asking about is institutional discrimination based on racism, which again I felt that the Ivory situation was a good example, which again you reject because you disagree that racism is malleable can be attached to anyone.

Additionally I gave the example of black conservatives for just the argument of my definition of racism but again that was rejected for the same reasons.

So it's a difference of opinion. Be clear, yours is an opinion and mine is also. You have your evidence and I have mine.
Unfortunately, this is not the forum where this could be fleshed out properly where we can come to some sort of "truth" on the matter.

Possibly as time goes on we can have further conversations and maybe come some sort of consensus. But for now all I see us is going around in circles.

Respect.

like my wigga right here

Re: Albert Einstein Said Racism Is “A Disease Of White People”........... was he wron

Our society was literally built on racism. Systemic and institutional racism continue to this day with implicit social support. Racism is woven into the very fabric of our society.

True. I was talking more in the present tense. Of course racism has a systematic approach thatis woven into society. I agree 100% with that. But I am not talking about that. I am talking about the belief that these doctors are saying is a mental illness. I am talking about it from that point of view. I don't want to agree about semantics. I am more interested in this article and einsteins views.

But you didn't answer my questions sir?

"How has it changed? Since when have black people belonged to a race? According to who, According to what? Why? And yeah, how do black people practice racism in all areas of people activity in their relationship to white people as a collective? How do they do it in say, economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, sex, war, religion, etc?"

And yeah, i don't remember desputing the fact that race is a social construct. CONSTRUCTED BY WHO? WHITE FOLKS THAT BELONG TO A RACE AND BELIEVE IN RACISM. Thus, racism is white supremacy and white supremacy is racism.

So the African explorers, what did they do?

Did they create a system of classification based on the people they met?

I don't understand how I can be called a troll and white because my opinion is different from yours.

Because you are either slow or you know that you are talking around the issue and grasping at straws for an argument. You haven't been able to articulate your position worthy of debate and you are doing shit like changing the definition of a word which is the clearest sign that you aren't worth the typing.

I answered some of these in replying to Kayanation.
The rest like I said will just continue to cause us to go round and round because we disagree on a particular concept that is a strong basis for both of our arguments.

Additionally you are asking me something that requires thought and time because it is a loaded question. I suppose in the future I can make a separate thread about it and we can hash it out there.

The fact that some of you are telling me a I'm a troll (considering the years and work I've put in on this board) and haven't articulated my point of view well tells me that you haven't been reading what I've been saying or you are just simply unwilling to see another side of things.

Kefta seems to understand what I am saying.
He just disagrees.

Because it didn't happen.

Africans did not do this.

So now you have a difference between Africans and Europeans and how they treated people they met.

Now slavery started in 1400's.

Race was created in 1600's

Why did it take Europeans 200 years to come up with a concept called race and why was it created in America and not some other place they explored?

bro you can't be sure and unaware at the same time...

'Race' only exist because the people (whites) who created race spread the idea of race to other cultures by way of colonialism . 'Race' was created to categorize people by physical features. In other words 'race' was created to separate whites from the rest of the world.

People change not the definition. How are words defined? Words has no meaning until you define it by its function or how it works. When people takes the idea of race and makes it a reality by practicing it, then constructs a system based on the practice then you have racism.

Whites created the idea of race. Whites practiced the idea of race. Whites created a system based on the practice (racism). Every non-white is the 'collateral damage' of the practice.

Blacks, Indians, Asians, Mexicans, and every other non-whites are collateral damage of the practice of racism by whites.

The 'collateral damage' is a result of racism. Any other non-white culture that carries this idea of racism can only be prejudice because racism was never meant for any other group except whites.

So are you saying that Africans in their explorations did not classify difference in the different tribes, peoples, and environments they came across.

I find this hard to believe. How would they be able to have trade, build some sort of system of communication between each other, or just simply be civilized amongst one another?

I mean "slavery" did exist within African tribes. They had to have some sort of system in place to say who would be a slave and who would not, a system to explain or quantify difference. As I'm sure the Scandinavians did.

But again, I try not to speak on things I don't know about.
If you say that's the case I'll take your word on it.

I believe I answered your last question already.
It was done to consolidate power within them.
The system of race was done to add "reason" to their agenda.

Kaya, back and forth global travel wasn't perfected until the concept of race was created.

For example, we have no idea what Native Americans would have done if they had perfected back and forth global travel. They very well could have created racism.

Slavery is in the bible. It wasn't created in the 1400s. Also, it's clear that ethnic cleansing was cool back then(biblical times). I know you don't believe in the bible, but many on here hold it up as truth. Black Hebrews and what not.

So if those black Hebrews that committed ethnic cleansing and genocide could travel the globe in a back and forth manner, what would have happened to people who didn't get down with their shit?

And I agree with the bolded parts.

Where we disagree, apparently, is that it can't be assumed by someone else.
That racism cannot be practiced by anyone else that is not white.
Much more, that their racism cannot enact institutional discrimination against anyone else.

I simply disagree.

I've tried to give evidence of this and was rebuffed but have no received a viable explanation why it is rebuffed other than blacks are not capable racism if racism is defined as hate towards another not like yourself based on race or ethnicity.
