Same here just last year off the S. Carolina coast, wasn't a marlin but it happened. Go often enough it will happen.
I'm not sure if there's such a thing as "Fishing Rage" but I see how something like this could set you the fuck off! I would have cussed out that shark, talked about his momma, cussed out the captain for not telling me there were sharks in area, cussed out the crew, cussed out the travel agent, and probably cussed out my wife for telling me to calm down!

i swear, and i know its wrong, but i seriously wanted that dudes arm to be eaten off. seriously. though they make for great entertainment and darwin award winners, some white people push danger well beyond the acceptable limit. he did not even flinch afterward.
