Metal Gear: so demos now cost $30?

I bought the game metal gear ground zero for my xbox one yesterday. I was not expecting a full game for $30. I was expecting at least half a game. I finished the whole game in two hours. This is unacceptable. A game demo for $30 is a joke. The greed of those in the game industry is getting out of hand. DLC content that cost as much as the game just set the ball rolling.

Damn, glad I didn't buy that shit

Didn't you see the price of said game before you bought it? Yeah that's ridiculous but can't be mad at them for selling a demo for $30. Be mad at (yourself) cats that created an environment where they can charge $30 for a demo.

That said, the $30 spent on the demo should go towards the purchase price of the full game.

True and true

They get away with it because little kids wil bother their parents to buy....parents just want to pacify the kid so they buy it....cause the kids have zero insight on how they re getting ripped off.....

and the younger genration of gamers don t even have enough patience for storylines....i see the decline of the campaign mode within the next 5 years....:smh:

Why not? They got you to buy the shit. I don't blame them. Shit charge 50 for it for all I care. There's always this "rush" to play or buy new shit before it comes out. Its always going to be a market for it. So tax for it. People will pay. Guys like me.....I can be the last one to play shit as opposed to paying 30 for it. I won't pay more than 5 for a demo.

Nope and I didn't do that on tomb raider of GTA too. Since when did one have to do all the side missions to enjoy quality gaming. That's just an excuse. I was expecting a full game for $30, short, but a full game none the less. This shit was a one map demo, period. The game case should have said so. Does this mean that when the $60 game is released it will have two maps and four missions? Let's see.

You are very correct. Expect people to defend this game as not being a demo.

Well you know its funny. I went and googled the shit a minute ago.....first article I see....."This is much more than a demo". I'm not even trying to read that shit.

If they truly cared about their fans they could've did this for the 5 or 10 dollars. They money hungry. Probably going to be the new standard and shit.

I'm confused. Is the shit a demo or is it not?

But they told us it was two hours long. Plus I believe that's gonna be a part of the big Metal Gear game later on this year. That was on you O.P. :smh:

the side missions were supposed to bulk it up...or so is the rationale they spouted

To be fair it does look cool and I like stealth games but I wont drop 30 bucks for that.

When they drop it to 10 bucks MAYBE.....

Where on the packaging did they say it was two hours long? Where did they say it was a demo?

It's not a demo, it's actually worse than that. It's the beginning of The Phantom Pain that they cut out and sold at a premium. People ate up DLC, so then the companies started cutting shit out of games and selling it as DLC. People ate that up and now they cutting parts of games out and selling it like it's a whole game in and of itself.

Sadly this will be the new trend. No wonder there are very few demos in the xbox one market place. Other developers are like, we can do this too. Now if they had made the game online like Titan fall, it would have added value.

Wow. They really don't want to fuck up the little market they have doing stupid shit like this. Shit if they want they can charge the extra 10 dollars for certain games but to take shit out and charge 30? That's rape.

I don't know about the packaging but from everywhere I read they say the game is 2 Hours long as if they knew it was going to be 2 hours.

Don't know if you check IGN or not but they've been saying this for the longest. I stayed away from it because if I'm not mistaken they also said this two hour part will be included in the big Metal Gear 5: The Phantom Pain game. Read up thoroughly on games before you buy homie. Lesson learned.

There are reviews everywhere that tell you this. It's not their fault it's yours. This is why they can do these things. I am a Metal Gear fanatic! I didn't make this mistake. I read up on it. That's one of the first things all reviews will tell you. Why should it be on the box art? Cause your that spontaneous and frivolous with your cash? This is why hardcore gamers in the 2000's didn't want casual gamers to get in. You guys kind of ruin the industry by consuming trash, or overpaying for broken or non-finished games.

I'm sorry where are the reviews? How can they assume that everyone reads reviews. Stop defending this fuckery. The game is on the store shelves like every other game. I was not expecting a long game, if it was $15 bucks that's fine but $30 for a demo is just plane wrong.

I'm the casual gamer but I can now see why the hardcore gamers don't want to let us in. Because we're the ones who are going to drive prices up and we are ultimately the fan base they appease to. Not the hardcore gamers. That goes for most entertainment. These companies are going for the casual fans FIRST and hardcore fans later.

Same shit goes for shoes. MJ and Nike will continue to increase prices and lower volume of shoes because they know the hypebeast and casual heads are going to be the one to run those prices up.

I think you're missing the point. They don't have to tell you SHIT because you not gonna do your research.

And you are not in the minority. There are others like you. They can do this shit with no problem. Its business man not personal. They just making money off you. IT happens. If they really wanted to pull one over on you they would've made reviews available AFTER the game dropped. But they were available before. You just gotta do your research man.

No excuse in 2014 with as much internet access we have.

That's the first thing I do. When I get ready to move into a new area or place....check and see if I see shit online. If i'm talking to a female....gonna see if she got shit online.....I'm gonna see a new movie but don't know what its about.....gonna see info on it online.

Not coming at your or anything but how y'all don't move like this in 2014 with all these resources at our fingertips?

Yup that's exactly what I said, it's a fuckin' demo.
And every asshole on my friends list who has it either ignored my message when I asked if it was worth it or they swear its the shit!

Some of these clowns play the shit every day but I know them niggas aint playing shit cuz there aint shit to play after 2 hours or less, they just trying to act like they love the shit so much cuz they feel stupid for buying it.

IGN reviewed this game and said it was really short. You have to research before you buy anything family...with all due respect, cats on here aren't gonna feel sorry for someone that couldn't use google.

Can't put this on just casuals. The defense force is pretty much solely consisting of the hardcore fanbase. Plus the MGS fanatics ate this shit up and actually believe that Kojima dropped the game as a favor to them.

Also, it was actually going to be a full $40 game until reviews tipped people off to how short it was. The backlash made them cut $10 dollars off it.

I'm not saying people should feel sympathy for dude, but it really is some victim blaming shit. My ire is for the companies that do this and the hardcore fans that know about it, but still go along with it.

Come on though bro. Even if you didn't read shit about it being short. Doesn't something go off in your head if you see a game for 30 or even 40 dollars? Shit man if I see a game for 55.99 i'm gonna think something wrong with it.

Thee's a difference between a short game and what Ground Zeroes is. There are $15-20 dlc that are three times as long as this bullshit, so while I understand someone seeing the game in a store and thinking that they may get 8-10 hours out of it instead of 20, there's no reason to see a 30-40 buck game and think "yeah, this is 5 minutes to an hour max." How can you get mad at people not expecting something that hasn't been done before?

I can also understand people not looking for reviews that are typically bought off or full of spoilers. :dunno: Like I said, blame the companies and the people who willingly support this bs, not someone who fell for something that they had no reason to suspect.

For $30 bucks nobody expects Gta5 type experience, but they do expect a full game and not a demo length game. Titan fall bet was free but provided hours upon hours of game play online.

I bought and I'm happy with it because I'm a hardcore MG fan. Those of you who aren't should avoid it.

My point is, if you see a game for 30.00 dollars your instinct isn't to go do research and see why its that much? I just don't get how you don't do that man.

the $30 price tag should have sent up a red flag. i was all set to buy it until i did some research and found out it was only about 2 hours long, along with some side missions.

i was like "only $30 for a new game"...nah something ain't right.
