Sick of buying new printers and ink because of ink drying out and clogging. Get a laser printer!

I bought this one in 2014.

Previously I was buying at lest 1 printer a year because I don't print much. Also if I wasn't buying a printer I was buying ink because the ink would dry out. Sometimes the inkjet nozzles would clog and it wouldn't be fixable so I'd be forced to buy a new printer.
ALL those problems disappeared when I bought a laser printer.
I go months without printing anything and I don't have any problems printing when I need to. No clogs ever!
Someone told me before I bought it that laser printers use toner which is basically plastic instead of ink.
I guess that is why it doesn't clog up.

Anyways this is the I own. I wanted an All-In-One type printer so this is the one I bought.

It is currently on sale. I bought it for around this price back then around Black Friday. I don't think I've ever seen it lower though.

One of the reasons I bought it is because there is a known hack that's on the internet that you can do to reset the toner count when the printer makes you change it so you can use the toner until it's definitely time to change it.

Buy a better printer....HP Office jet pro 8630....don't print much either...and don't have those problems !!! Started with a bargain cheaper one....had those problems....upgraded and.....

A quick tip I learned, for unclogging dried up ink cartridges.....
Get a plastic cup, put some water in it & put it in the microwave until its about boiling hot
Take your dried up cartridge and submerge it in the hot water
Its gonna float, so hold it in the water for about 2-3 minutes or so
The hot water will break up & unclog it pretty well, works like a charm, I do it all the time
Then just shake off any excess water before putting it back inside the printer

Once I found cheap cartridges on Amazon I stopped caring. $12 gets me 24 colors like main man posted above. J only print every now and then but Im not paying $20 for one stupid cartridge.

I've got an old Brother MFC all in one someone gave me years ago. Has always been reliable.

Printer ink is a scam, HP has based it's business model on it, I use to go buy cheap refills from the mall kiosk but even that does not really make a difference, even though I have a nice Wi-Fi printer, I found lately it's cheaper to take my large print files to the library and pay the couple dollars to print them there. I only use my home printer for one or a few pages to print.

? I'm baffled people actually BUY ink from the store....
I bought refillable cartridges (for your printer) off EBAY then buy 3 bottles of each color 5 Black
That was 3 Years ago....Hahahahahaha
Total Cost with Cartridges and Ink = $50

man fuck buying ink

bought a laser printer years ago and haven't looked back..... two kids in school and still using the toner that came with it

and they print there asses off

i stopped refilling ink cartridges 15 years ago

$269 is kinda pricey for that Brother wireless color laser printer - especially if you don't print much.

Staples currently has this Dell on sale for $129
https://www.staples.com/Dell-E525W-Color-Laser-All-in-One-Printer-STP-NJMVPE/product_1667711
Fry's had this Samsung on sale for $129 up until Sep 12 - that price returns one week every other month

Rakuten sells this Ricoh for $144 everyday and last week they had a flash sale to $109
https://www.rakuten.com/shop/beach-camera/product/RIC407519/

Or if you can hold out until Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) there will be multiple Color Laser Printers on sale - at least one for $99 or less

Yeah tired of that, same issues with my last 3 printers. Plus buying ink costs more than a new printer so I always get a new one.

I guess you haven't read the reviews on HP Ink.

I just bought an epson printer a few months back. I know about their ink issue, and I don't have a problem with that.

I recently purchased the 4740.

I PRINT thousands of pages a month... I was getting new Ink jet printers every 3 month. Ink 3-4 times a month.. Had this one now for 5 months. Haven't had to buy ink. Best Ink Jet on the market and its like $300. I have a different version but its essential same situation. Comes with bottles of ink. I actually need to get some new ink now but Im not empty yet.

Brother makes the most bullshit ass printers out there and have for at least the last 12 years.

HP enterprise laser printers will last till you get tired of looking at it. Fuser, toner, rollers and it'll keep ticking.

They make some of the best fax machines thou.

I can vouch for the Brother laser printer. I used it in my office for 7 years and no problem at all. The ink is inexpensive too.

For those of you with large volume, high production offices, just lease a good high-speed copier/scanner/fax. You can lease a fairly used one for like $150/month. You get free maintenance and free ink for 2000/pages a month and thereafter it's 1 cent a page.
