Any Phds on BGOL?

Work, Internet hosting, Army reserve, Tutoring...

If I can juggle all four and find a way to attend school it would be possible. It would by a 50/50 program. 50 percent in class, 50 percent online. (I researched it)

Might be worth the trouble, at least it sounds like you would be doing it because you WANT to hold that degree, not because you think it will give you some sort extrinsic return...

Ed.D. Doctor of Education (Educational Leadership/Educational Administration)

Doctorate History specializing in Western and African civilization (1999)
Doctorate candidate in Adult & Higher Education. Should be done in 2010. I like research so I'll probably go after the Ed Specialist or Ed Admin edD after I'm finished in 2010.
I've got nothing better to do I guess.

fuck a Ph.D. I pumped my brakes hard as shit after I finished my master's coursework in Clinical Psychology. I remember distinctly finishing up my third semester of Classical and Instrumentation Practice class and thinking to myself "what the hell am I doing?" I went to my grad advisor and told her I was out. No M.S. I'll just take the non-thesis M.A. and be out the next semester.

I had tunnel vision for a while. I was dead set on the Ph.D. in Psych and getting my GA state licensure. But then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I don't really care for the field. My father has a Ph.D in Psycho-Educational Processes. He was really looking forward to me getting into the field, but I couldn't get into it.

So in 2005, I was probably the only cable guy in the country with a B.S. and M.A. in Psychology.

Bump-

Doctor of Philosophy as in Doctor of the Philosophy of Art.

The reason for the name is historical. Most universities used to have only four majors: divinity, law, medicine, and philosophy. All other modern subjects (such as physics, English, math) were part of philosophy, and so most subjects still use PhD as their doctoral degree.

psych is one of my two majors....med school is frightening as an idea....but who knows for me.

I hear that. One of my long time friends just turned 30 a couple days ago and she has been going to college since 97' and is still not finished her residency as a pscharatrist!!:wepraise:

Finishing up my Master in Sociology with a concentration on media studies.

Applying for a PhD in December to about 5 programs, hoping I get into one.
Just started taking the kaplan courses and hoping to get over a 1300.
The first time I took it I got high 1100's without the courses so I'm hoping that I can get an extra 300 from the courses.

Here's hoping for the best.

Some people just like being in school though.

I've technically been in school since '98 with a break for about 2 1/2 years or so.

I'll get my Master degree by next year at which point I'll be 29 and I'm hoping to finish the PhD by 35.

And that is still relativity young.

And when I'm done I'll probably take some art courses just for shits and giggles because I just like being in class. Especially for things I like.

So being in school since '97 is not that big a deal.
