35 mpg in a hybrid SUV for an extra couple of g's is worth it if you need that size.

economically....hybrids are great. fuel efficient....less harmful emissions etc. but the sad part about it is....the production of these vehicles will be limited because they aren't in high demand....and thats because due to the recession that the economy is in....most people can't afford them. some would rather save money and stick with the suv's they already have.

I feel hybrid SUVs are more hype than anything else.
Saturn VUE 25 city/32 hwy <----not that great but it's GM what did you expect?
Toyota Highlander 25 city/27 hwy <---slightly worse than GM
Mercury Mariner & Ford Escape 31 city /34 hwy <---a lil better
These smaller SUVs have better gas mileage when it comes to the SUV market, but style-wise, IMO, they are so bitch-like I really can't see myself spending any $$$ on them.
The full size SUVs, that I think are better looking, are a big fucking joke as hybrids. Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Caddy Escalade all have MPG numbers around 21 city/ 22 hwy.
I can get that mileage on my '02 non-hybrid GMC.
The whole hybrid thing with many auto manufacturers is mostly smoke and mirrors. They will say anything to get an unsuspecting buyer in showroom. Oh and I forgot to mention these muthafuckas cost more than the normal non-hybrid models.
