Is now white.

Is now requiring $M to live there.

Shit, even Striver's Row ain't even for strivers anymore. It's more like Are You Accomplished? Row.

Look at our history to figure out where to go next...If your parents had held onto that property 20-40 years ago instead of taking the bait to move to the next greatest thing, you could have cashed in...

It's a shame because so many of the beautiful brownstones were Black-owned up to the late 90's, but very few Blacks wanted them because the area was so bad. Now that the market went up so dramatically, whites are buying up the whole area.

The neighborhood looks a lot different then when it did when I was growing up. Damn shame our people let it go.

This is helluva drop playa. Imagine living down the street from Sonny Rollins, Duke Ellington, Thurgood Marshall. Insane I tell ya.

My parent sold their Brownstone in the early 80's to move out to Long Island b/c at the time NYC was an utter cesspool. Sky high crime, crack wars, city services down and out due to budget shortfalls, and on and on and on.

I don't necessarily fault them for leaving at the moment in time.

20 years later, the same brownstone is now 1200% more expensive than it was when my parent sold it.

that looks like its on 145th st and saint nice ave. right by the church. man 10 years ago that area was once called shoot'em up alley. white folks would not dear walk anywhere near this section of Harlem,:smh: and whats more crazy theres a fucking police staion at the fuckin' corner below the subway.

nikka your parenst livi in the south bronx, Hunts Point Area)

All my family still lives in the area.
They all refuse to move out.
No matter what crazy shit their landlords keep pulling.

Something needs to be done about that abandoned PS 186 though.
That shit has been a skeletal eyesore since the mid-80s.

DAMN SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT

[flash]http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/MHssOsbXLV4[/flash]

Next time use the Youtube embed video tags:

[y*outube] "EMBED" VIDEO URL GOES HERE [/y*outube] (remove the stars )

and paste the Embed video link off youtube between the tags. It's the super long string of characters.

There's another way you can do it too using the flash video tag - but it's a little more involved. You have to use the flash tags [f*lash] VIDEO URL GOES HERE [/f*lash] (remove the stars)

and you past the normal url in between the tags, BUT you have to modify it a bit by deleting the "?" and "=" and inserting a backslash "/" in their place ...

So

Becomes

Peace

That's Convent Avenue.. looks like its around 143rd 144th. Man, I remember back in the day Convent Avenue used to be bad. Its crazy how the neighborhood got gentrified.
